He's our's for the remainder of this season at least and we should have enough in the tank to stay in the top six. After that, who knows?

if van dijk valued by them at 60m would want 25m for pontus. simple.

Do you think Van Dijk is that much better than Pontus? even at all....

Agree Rich and I cannot see him leaving us for them. He said Leeds made him love football again. He wont go to them.

i love pontus, but he hasnt played premier league football.

can only go on the facts and tbh if they wanted him would probably get him for 10-12m

Rich, this is true

once we are promoted though, it totally changes the ball game.

He's good enough for the premier league. He's better than quite a few in there already.

If the club can demonstrate that they match the player's ambitions, then he probably stays. For the last 10 years it hasn't been the case and we have seen our best players leave season after season.

So the next 6 months are an opportunity for the current owners to prove they have ambitions to take LUFC forward. Or not.

I don't even want to contemplate this at the moment. All i can think of is this season and the play offfs for now

It was on the cards, him, Bartley, Wood, Roofe, Ayling will have attracted interest from top tier sides.

In order to command a fee if £25m we have to have bought him in the first place.

Pontus may not have played PL football, but he has played in Serie A, so he does have experience of top flight football, and he is an international player for quite a respected international team.

I would expect them to pay upwards of 15 million.

Has Jansson actually signed a 3 year contract with us, or agreed to sign a 3 year contract in the summer.

There is a difference and from the vaguensss of club statement at the time:

https://www.leedsunited.com/news/team-news/21571/pontus

It's hard to see where anything has been signed.

If we don't go up and Prem teams offer Jansson Prem football and Prem wages, then it could very very messy in the summer.

depends how you view it - 16apps in two years in serie a , then out the team,

and 10 int appearances in 4 years.

obv i love pontus but serie A and a few friendlies for sweden aint PL

He has said before that he has grown to love football again because of Leeds. Sounds like a man dead set on staying with the club, if you ask me.

I don't think he's looking to leave, but if contract not actually signed, we don't go up and someone offers him 5 times as much money and Prem football.....

alan smith loved leeds.

So did Gary Kelly.

What is the point of this?

I think Rich's point is that there have been plenty of players who we thought loved playing for Leeds but for whatever reason moved on.
