"Both teams more or less play the same formation"

It's all in that "more or less" Spart. All people are more or less the same if you look at it in a certain way, yet those tiny nuances that distinguish one individual from another can, on occasions, be significant. Don't you agree?

I have a solution.

Those that believe in formations - and I'm not saying that they are correct but they may be, can continue to believe in formations without any fear of repercussions or prejudice.

Those that don't believe in formations can continue to not believe and be free to advocate their beliefs without any ridicule, unless they are proved wrong.

That wasn't difficult

It's not always as black & white as that, View !

Out of interest, how is the "proved wrong" bit to be defined?

posted on 5/3/17

Simple rule, it it diverges from my point of view it is wrong. I think that applies to everyone on here.

Back to the subject of the game I was disappointed to lhear on Rams Player that Bent was due to start yesterday until he became unwell, according to Mac.

Hope to God he doesn't return on Tuesday, surely...

Nugent was absolutely dead on his feet at the end of the game yesterday. Bent is likely to need to play a part at least on Tuesday, hopefully the latter part once victory has been assured.....

I think the revolutionary system we are now playing, which as all agree differs so completely from previous systems in every respect, might suit Bent too, but not if we are going to play a lot of long balls as we did yesterday. Nugent's tireless running and adroit timing of his jumps meant that we got some joy from this. Bent won't do none of that. If we keep it on the floor and get the crosses in nice and quick he might tap one in.

Agree, Vidal. With everything

I think there was also a fresh and welcome 'belief' from the players yesterday. 1 about the new system/formation and 2 with the fact Nugent was playing. SO many times our forward play breaks down when I can see mid-fielders looking for an option and Bent isn't giving or offering one. They then either turn around or simply play it backwards and sidewards.

Takes me back to the days of the fish

Watership in fact. Written prior to the Watershed.

Is that why View lost his key to watershed

No, you are thinking of Douglas MacArthur.

Im not sure if anybody mentioned it before, but Chelsea were pretty poor the first couple of games this season. Their manager did not change the players, he changed the formation. Looks a pretty good idea to me.

Who is Nicola Adams? Any relation to Gerry?

posted on 5/3/17

His niece, the family resemblance is uncanny. Cousin of Gomez, the family which has the butter business.
