Not to be too pedantic, but didn't he play in the EL for United this season, I thought you could only play in Europe for one club per season?

I seriously doubt he'll ever be good enough and have what it takes to be a star at United.
However, I'd be delighted to be proven wrong on that one in a few years time.
He's playing in a league more suited to his level. He's been tried and failed in the pl. he didn't even slightly flop, he was horrendous.
Aye, it was telling that his best games were against the likes Club Brugge and Sheffield Utd...
He's probably at this level. but hopefully we don't see comments and articles saying we should go back in for him or that he was never given a proper chance at OT when he scores a decent goal against Lorient or Metz.
It's all good and well writing him off now but lest we forget, 2 years ago he was just about the hottest young player at this age.
He won't be the first player to flop at a big club or in the PL but if he quickly turns it around, he'll be back on everyone's lips again.
Don't expect to see him back at United but I won't be surprised if he tears up Ligue 1 next season and gets another big move...
The boy has talent... just needs the maturity (on and off the field) to match that... He's awful experience with us might just be the jolt he needed to take his game to the next level...

So by that logic, Serie A is a better league because Gabbiadini scored 5 in 19 there and now has 6 in 4 playing in England?
I just think Depay was mismanaged.

Agreed. Plus short of confidence. He would've never tried that shot with us, even if we were 3-0. The talent is there.
He may be talented but he does not have the mentality to hack it at a club like Utd.
That self belief is not there
Think he moved to a big club too soon. Should have went to another club and then stepped up to United around the age of 25. Mismanaged
