Slimani and Musa

Completely agree. Slimani needs to work on his game when coming on to help see the game out, while Musa really shouldn't play again this season. I don't want to give up on them yet but we need to see more.

Not sure Andy King can close out a game when it's tight. Or Gray.
However, i would of brought on Gray instead of Slimani. He is more dangerous going forward.
Slimani owes the Leicester City fans a good performance as he's been far from the player we expected.
Musa could come good? It's there, just needs to be teased out. He's got to get to grips with the "Leicester City ethic" He's struggling to understand the way we play best. Someone needs to explain our strong points & weaknesses to him. Give him responsibility.

Islam Slimani will be gone by Jan 18 if he doesn't play better, as a team player.

Shunned and abused because they're not Pearsons players...pffft...transparent or what!

Hector...
.....far from the truth. They haven't yet come up to scratch but still could do? They are taking a long time to adapt when given their chance. Both could be very, very good. But it's up to them. Their futures will probably be decided by Jan. 18 or end of next season, or sooner if they want out.

At the moment neither are worth the money paid for them. That may change.

I'd like to see Musa tried as a straight swap for Vardy, coming on after 60-70 minutes. Give him a chance against a tired defence. He might score and gain a bit of confidence.

It was tightto bring on attacking players. Inviting West Ham on would have killed our tiring defence.

However, Slimani didn't have a great game, and Musa should have been Gray!!! Shakespeare was clearly trying to get Slimani to hold the ball and hoping to use Musa for breaks, but Musa is in hopeless form and Slimani isn't really a hold up player.

As much as I don't rate him that highly, Ulloa has the art of holding the ball up and closing a game out nailed.

So, I think Shakespeare did the right thing, I just think he did it with the wrong players.

Slimani should not be written off yet. I'm not sure about Musa! He looks hopeless on the ball, but I've seen flashes from him. If it's purely confidence, he needs to go and work with the coaching staff. I fear he's just too one dimensional for the Prem.

By the way...........Swansea have just lost 2-0 to Bournemouth.........happy days.
Puts them back in trouble behind us.

Craig Shakespeare is the first manager in Premier League history to have his side score three-plus goals in his first three games in the competition.
Leicester secured their first league away win of the season in their 14th game.
Riyad Mahrez has scored as many league goals in three games under Craig Shakespeare, as he had in his final 22 under Claudio Ranieri.
Marc Albrighton has had a hand in three goals in his past four appearances for Leicester in all competitions, as many as in his previous 27.
.....
those stats.

In those 3 league games under CS as well - Vardy: played 3, scored 3, 1 assist.....having scored or assisted in one league game prior since ...forever (maybe Swansea at home?not sure on that one)

I could see the value in Slimani and Musa and the idea behind it but neither player was really up to the task as we weren't playing to the strengths of either player, instead hoping they can do a job with limited options.

I think Slimani and Gray would have been the better pairing but as an outlet, which we badly needed, Musa's pace gave him the edge I guess, he just didn't use it. Probably could have even used Amartey to just run around and close down in that hole. Chilwell for Mahrez was a good shout.

Why did anything Musa's done (i feel sorry for him) over Gray if it had been CR choice everyone would of gone ballistic?

posted on 19/3/17

It's not what he's done Nev, it's what he looks capable of doing.

Gray looks to have all the ability but no footballing brain currently. He looks like he could really develop though.

Musa looks to have neither. The game passes him by unless he's running directly in to a defender. He has had glimpses and could come good. I'm just not sure his coming good will be in the premier league!

We've heard that plenty of times before about various players, very often the fans view is proven incorrect.

It does help when players are played in their best position, even yesterday Musa should have been the front man with Slowmani behind, I'm sure he'd have scored the Slowmani chance!

Let's look at this slightly different.
Shakes goes into the interview at the end of the season.
He is asked what he wants answer 2 new strikers!
Owners say WHAT we have 40m of forwards on the bench but you don't use them.
But now he has, he put them on just to hold the ball up and see out the game, this then shows how carp they are without losing the game. But it was close.
So now he has used them the owners have seen how carp they are and he gets 2 new strikers Simple!!!

Not me personally, I don't see the hype with Gray because he doesn't have a final ball, he doesn't look up and his decision making is poor. Musa is faster and should have been a better option to stretch them but he was crap and again failed to take his chance.

You keep calling him slow but he's faster than Albrighton and you wouldn't call him slow so why do you keep saying Slowmani when he's the 5th fastest player we have and is only 5/10 of a second slower than Gray?

Maybe because he spent longer yesterday watching his 'team mates' run around defending the lead.

I saw him closing down and chasing everything, it was Musa who was all over the shop not doing anything. He should have scored but he's never too bright on the floor, it's his head that's lethal.

11 starts, five goals, four assists. Not his fault he's been injured. That's a ratio well worthy of £29m and if you think otherwise think Benteke.

Worth £400k to a Division one team.
