To and outsider, this sort of reaction from the fans seems pathetic. But they don't understand the unique nature of Arsenal. In a time where managers are sacked for 3 streak of losing games, Wenger can himself call the shots on whether to give himself a new contract. This power is not available to anyone in world football, especially in the big stage. For Wenger or anyone in his position, this is the ultimate power to posses. It's not about the money, it's not even about whether Arsenal can win the title under him. It's that unique status of being the ultimate king in world football, where you can under achieve but still be envied by fellow managers and people alike.
Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in world football, top 10 for sure. Wenger will look at that and compare it to where this club was before.
It's easy for us fans to say he should step down, and whilst I don't question his love for the club, others questioning it understandable. But there's no way anyone would give up the position he is in.
And also, I don't feel the passion for football anymore. Arsenal are the most predictable team in the world. Messi is probably the only reason why I will continue to watch some football.
