What's the deal with Monaco financially these days? Are they still owned by a billionaire?

They're a strange club, even though they will win the league this season and could reach (or even win) the CL final, they'll never really be a big club IMO. Their location hinders their ability to grow but then I guess it is also an attraction to some players. In my head most their best players will leave soon enough, or am I underestimating their popularity and power?

Liverpool fans seem to think their struggles in signing top players (even when they've been in the CL) applies to us, despite ample evidence to the contrary.

Why do u think that is

Nothing to do with money

Whether it happens or not is anyone's guess but think it would be very foolish on his part if he left Monaco so soon in his career. He's guaranteed first team football at a club challenging for the league that can also offer CL and importantly is his comfort zone. Not many 18 year old's breaking onto the scene get lucky like that and would be a big gamble on his part to move now.

Cheers, so they accept that they will be a selling club.

Exactly. If you're big enough no Champions League ain't an issue.

sometimes you wonder whether they are being wilfully ignorant, or are simply stupid.

though having read some of pranks' contributions to this site - "contributions" in the same way a dog might contribute to your lawn - i suspect the latter.

The kid is very good no doubt but it's insane to pay such a price for him.

It'll be the most idiotic signing in history of football.

You might as well have offerred £30 mill, if Real want him then it's all over.

Sources close to Monaco have told us tonight the club has received no offer for Kylian Mbappe and he is not for sale. #SSNHQ

ooh, Sky Sports are fighting back with a right hook. Who to believe..

Di Marzio is more accurate than Sky by any means possible.

Mbappe is special and I'm in love with the way he plays already but this is crazy money. Come on, now.

I can only think of one person who would think this is a good idea.

That would be the same clown who thouht Pogba was the second coming.

Have you ever spent two consecutive seasons out of champions league football though daz? That may be a factor in players minds.

Might not, but it's worth pointing out that last summer and 2014 it was your first and only season out of the champions league

The French journalist Julien Laurens has been saying all season on BT's European Football Show that Mbappe will stay at Monaco next season, and possibly the season after to develop, then move on.
