United pay Zlatan more in one month than Ajax paid him in a year or two.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

United pay Zlatan as much as Ajax' whole wage structure for one year, which is used from paying the first team players up to and including the youth academy players

----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were talking about transfer fees - capex - rather than operational expenditure, which obviously doesn't count.

Opex is practically not even real money.

To play defensive, negative football against Ajax is a crime against the beautiful game. No one with a good head can argue any reason whatsoever to defend against these lot- it would be a travesty

Is that what you lot told Rooney when he wasted 500k in a couple of hours in Manchester Casino?

Think people are missing the point of the article.....

We have access to unlimited money.
Ajax do not.

Its as simple as that.

So basically we have absolutely awful members of staff who can't get a good deal on a player so we throw money around aimlessly whereas Ajax have to spend carefully and don't have much of a squad like ours that is littered with talent e.g. Fellaini, blind, jones, rooney, lindgash etc.

Basically we have more money than sense.

Also because we are Manchester United we get ripped off as people know we have the funds and our men who do the deals aren't very good at buying clearly.

Gambling is an investment. You have to speculate to accumulate.

He might have blown 500k this time, but the law of averages says next time he visits he will win big

And somehow, contrary to what some idiots say, their team with little resources compared to us are in the Europa final. Are people telling me their players are better than even our bench?

there are people on here saying that ajax are not in the final? that really is idiotic.

in case people haven't noticed though many matches in europe will feature a team with considerable resources vs one without.

yet i don't remember this subject coming up with such tedious regularity as it is with this match. was pep sacked because city were knocked out by monaco? was klopp labelled a disgrace because he lost to sevilla last year? or went out to wolves in the fa cup?

I don't know...
Our bench is pretty shet

I think it is within people's rights to argue that it would be a disgrace to go face this team and set up defensively- an utter disgrace that in my opinion.

They have been coached to do so. They don't go around whinging and throwing away silly money. You have teams that never want to stray away from their identity- Barcelona, Ajax, Madrid and us before.

The monetary value of Ajax's squad doesn't represent it's actualy quality, though. Given how they operate, I thought this would be obvious. Whether many of this current group go on to have the success many of their previous players have remains to be seen, but Ajax have always been a club where the quality of their team/squad is higher than what is supposed based on the cost to assemble.

yeah, that was an odd example....and madrid were practically the inventors of throwing away silly money (albeit more recently they have merely spent silly money rather than thrown it away)

They sacked Capello after winning the league for playing defensive football. Part of their identity is spending big and they have continued to so. Maybe you've got a different story to tell?

How? What has spending money got to do with their identity? We are spending big money and parking the bus? You think Madrid would allow their manager scoring 1 goal against the top 6 sides whole season..... No way!!!

posted on 17/5/17

If they didn't stray away from their identity they wouldn't have appointed him in the first place. They also went on to appoint Jose Mourinho.

Real Madrid's identity had deep roots in its academy, something they strayed away from massively.

Not to forget Del Bosque, Rafa and Ramos.

Have we really only scored 1 goal v the top 6?
