Stand Corrected! For some reason had it my head it was a mid weeker ....Regardless.... I'll be there!

Lastest Hillism...... "We should have had three points. Clean sheets win games and we should have kept a clean sheet. I am disappointed in the manner they scored. It was just a straight and direct ball.".......What do you expect Keith?..... that goals are scored on a camber or indirectly via Skegness and Barrow in Furness

It'll be interesting to see how much the attendance figure rises, if at all, especially on the back of a very good performance. Would be nice to get a little atmosphere in the ponty end these days.. But I've always been a bit of a dreamer

As Sparts has said in many previous posts, a reduction on gate prices has rarely seen a significant increase in bums on seats, lets hope a £14 reduction does the trick this time.

I wish people wold get off Hills back, pulling every word he speaks, to pieces.
Like it or not he speaks his mind and the majority of it is the truth.
In the past our managers have said very little worth listening to, but KH has his opinions and the anti Hill brigade jump on his words just to create an issue.
The man has an unenviable task of managing our club, with its restrictions, and given the squad he inherited he has had to redirect our ambitions with a new playing style, and in these early days seeds of change are starting show through.
As many fans said when KH was appointed, lets judge him after a dozen games, but it seems that after a couple of bad home games the knives are out, just because they cant face reality and a few home truths.
Cut him some slack, and let him get on with his job...

kinnell - Re your comment "I wish people would get off Hills back, pulling every word he speaks, to pieces."
I would not criticise Hill on his knowledge of football or tactics but his continual statements on the financial state of affairs and know your limited expectations are becoming as tiresome as a spartacus comment.
If football positions were determined on attendances what a dull game it would be, it's up to the manager to show his worth instead of continually moaning and attacking fans of the club. What happened to the My Town My Team My Blood slogan, it seems little ambition is forthcoming from Cryne, Rowing and Taylor and together with the negativity from Hill has resulted in the dramatic fall in attendances which needs to be addressed before it's too late. It's easier to lose support than regain it.

Spot on Kinnell...Very good performance Saturday totally ignored by the neanderthals and their anti Hill agenda typified by Gluteus' childish comment above.

C'mon U****, get an I D,
I feel I'm being attacked by a German submarine.

All I'm asking is give the man a break, give him his dozen games.
If you listen to what he has said, and engage brain, you will see that what he is saying is right.
His job, like every other manager, is to avoid relegation first, and then move the club forward.
Hillcroft inherited a poor squad, due to the excessive loans that Robins used, and within our resources they are forming what I hope can be a capable squad, of mostly our players that will play Hills brand of football.

With the availability of McEverly for loan, thats some more deadwood out of the door, and after the drugs exposure of O'Connor, I have had my doubts about Jay Mc, after an alleged association with O'C in a Leeds nightclub toilet, big time Charlies, Charlie big time.
The drop off in attendance was nothing to do with Hills negativity, the majority was a fan protest at the prices.
If you say Hill is negative for playing a 4-5-1, well thats what it looks like on paper, but the way our current squad play it, it is actually a very fluid 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 as the game develops.
The my Town, Team, Blood, was a marketing slogan to get the people of the T'arn to believe in and take pride in the club, Wake Up the T'arn !!!, but it fell on deaf ears, so the club had to take the other option of putting prices up, obviously higher than they would have liked, and then some extra because of the VAT increase, that the club held off the fans, after last Jans increase.

I would not knock the ambition of P Cryne, (the other 2 yes )
PC has his Court troubles, and his illness, so much so that he has not attended a game this season, but he loves his hometown club, and would like to pass the ownership on, to the right people.
Having said that, there was some strangers in the Barnsley directors box at Saturdays game, could be just guests or hopefully a new owner, this is just what I saw, and I do not want to start a new owner rumour.

C'mon you Reddzzz, lets keep the improvement going,
I thought I heard a chant of "Keith Hills Red n White Army" on the Ponte last satdi, was I hearing things.

kinnell - what Hill is saying about the club is true but to keep throwing it at supporters so many times is irritating fans, some things are better left unsaid and that's what I called negativity. If you read my comments I said I would not criticise his tactics but his PR does little to sell the club at a time when attendances are falling.

No - you are right I thought I heard a couple of chants of "Keith Hill's Red Army" from the Ponty End. I am not sure Keith Hill heard it, or was bothered about it. That's OK but I agree with others that he should just get on with the job - and he seems to be doing a pretty good job, but that many of his comments give an impression of negativity and lack of enthusiasm as well as disdain for fans. We need to get people through the turnstiles and that won't help.. good night for Sheffield teams last night.....not.

Hill could say..."I'm nipping out for a sarnie" and the usual suspects would be moaning.

Back the man...if we get results, folk will return...if not... then Hill himself has said he knows what will happen.

He is no orator nor diplomat and has a way with words that I can understand may get under peoples skin. He was, however, reacting to some rather silly and premature comments made about the team and his players brought in. With the season a few games old it must be annoying to be written off the way he was by some. Maybe sitting bottom after 20 games 6 points clear of safety it might be the time to voice serious concerns about the ability of the manager and players, but with three games played, with two of them against teams that are looking like the real deal this season. (I remind you we could have pinched an undeserved point against Soton late on) spouting off on boards or writing letters to the club, just comes across as pathetic. If it were me I'd have just had a smile and poured myself another, but it obviously pi$$ed him off. He took it personally, which at least shows he cares THAT much. I just hope the boo boys and prissy fans who whine like children because he 'insulted' them, have the cojones to admit they were wrong should things be going well.

Agree with those comments Richie...

Oh Richie the boo boys never admit they were wrong, they just disappear back into the woodwork until the next bad match.

Am I a boo boy or a prissy fan? I guess I fit the latter description more than the first. Or would I object to being labelled? Yes - I think I would. There seems to be a group that thinks any criticism of the team or manager is somehow indicative that you are not a supporter of the team. This is a football forum and it is about opinions and ideas. If all it was were to say - we have complete faith in the players and management and trust them to do the right thing in all circumstances and we will keep watching, then there's not much point in it. Innit?

Think you come under the category of, just loves moaning for moaning sakes

posted on 16/9/11

Well Sparty that category would cover about 99.9% of the population of Barnsley! (Ar much?)

To form an 'opinion or idea' about a manger or team after just 3 league games of a season says more about the poster than it does the guy/guys he/she is slagging off imo. Not only that, but to then go whinging and crying into your beer when you get a bit back.....

posted on 17/9/11

So we are to have no opinions on how the team and manager have done at this early stage of the season? I wish people would actually read the posts instead of having pre-conceived ideas. I don't think anybody, me least of all, has called for the manager's head and made any final judgments about him. You Ritchie Tyke have noticed that he seemed to over-react to early comments - stop whinging and whining. Well it's not - it's a fair point.

But admit it Skinner...You do like to moan.
