Debating is everything. If fact I will go as far as saying its better than campaigning.Because in campaigning you are talking to people that already believe in you but debate you will have to explain on your lies.

All politicians are lying cants anyway.

Do your lot lie as much as ours?

People under the age of 30 shouldn't be allowed to vote. Lets face it, most people are planks in their teens and 20's.

Same should be said for over 65's. Stuck in ways, unable to adapt.

The Tories will win, but hopefully not a majority. So they can kick out their inept leader for leading a farcical campaign.

Nice thought, but genuinely think May is the best candidate they have for PM, and that's saying something. I can see a lot of Tory internal conflict with her in charge, I must say

When you say under 30s shouldn't vote because from your view they are not capable of making inform decisions same can be said about old people that they should not be involved in a debate that is about the future since they will not be here.

Funny thing is high information voters tend to vote Labour.

65+ year olds have seen it, done it, lived it. Imo those that are 65+ know more about life and politics than I do at 28. Those 65+ people also have grandchildren coming into the world and they will want a bright future for them.

TV Debates in this country is too much a popularity contest and a shouting match to have anything with detailed information.

The Q&As are much better and you learn a lot more.

And if you want to be in a UK wide debate then be a UK wide party which means having candidates standing in each of the 4 UK countries. Also have a min amount of seats in parliament to attend the main debate

7 leaders is too much and everyone just interrupts each other. what do you actually learn then? That our politicians are just bickering children wanting to be the cool child.

Those over 65 are typically less engaged with the world than you will be at 28. Their viewpoint and understanding will be increasingly dictated to them by their television sets and newspapers. Those over 65 are far less likely to meet a broad range of people in their daily lives or interact with the real world consequences of political decisions. The value of their political experience is but a memory, an exceptionally poor device when held up to the use of scrutifiable data.

I don't give any weight to your argument, really.

Exactly. And they vote en mass and screw of up for everyone else.

Voting is for the next 4 years and each party has plans that will effect the older people so of course they should have a say, the same with how plans will affect younger people.

Saying a set age shouldn't vote is just stupid and kinda dictatorship.

posted on 8/6/17

Yeah basically. The real challenge is informing everyone and reducing the power of people like Murdoch and Dacre.

I am over 65 and I certainly am slightly ashamed of some of my age group, who have become very, very selfish. I think their parents, and their grandparents would be turning in their graves if they saw the way that the so called Baby Boomers are behaving towards the essential services that their generation fought so hard for like the NHS and decent Public Services.

Don't you know that greed is good and corporate greed is an unstoppable force of nature? We must worship at the altar of making the rich richer.

Nate Silver feels a hung Parliament is as likely as either a solid tory victory or a tory landslide.

All depends on youth turnout.
