Please explain Klopp's decision/experiment to play Coutinho deeper?

Squad depth and options perhaps?

Options better than the current one?

See the point now?

No, I don't

I prefer Coutinho in the forward line, where he's played almost exclusively since Klopp joined.

Lallana has been a top performer for us and candidate for player of the season in midfield. I think Lallana is better for us in that position and Coutinho ahead of us.

That's how Klopp has played them for 18 months.

I don't fully understand why we are willing to pay a silly fee for Kieta

When we have:

Hendo
Windy
Can

And also Couts, Milner and Lallana who are effective as a CM...

With Grujic looking better and better!

A CB and LB is a must
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because by all accounts Klopp thinks Keita is a special talent that could go on to be one of the best CMs in the world.

Why wouldn't you want that, irrespective of the other options?

Only becomes a problem if he's wrong!

Agree with this.

Just don't see Keita happening though.

Looks like Robertson will fill the LB slot. CB I have no idea.

Noooo...that how he played with them last season because of the options he had.

Now he has 2 rapid forwards, he's gonna want someone who can release them with a splitting pass.

Lallana is decent but releasing the ball quickly is definitely not one of his strengths.

Yeah, I reckon Keita is a long-shot now. Leipzig are digging the heals in.

Although someone said (newspaper or ja606 - I forget which) said they're just holding out for maximum cash and want the transfer record (currently KdB).

It would be a huge fee but if Klopp is that convinced then maybe he'd be worth it.

If he plays for us for 10 years or we sell him for a gain in a few years it'll be worth it.

But I can't imagine they will sell for even a world record fee unless it's completely ludicrous.

Saw this a few days ago which was interesting but is now out of date somewhat considering we have bid what they would apparently have dealt at and it was turned down. But I'm getting the feeling something is going on and it's not necessarily over just yet. Although it could also be a load of tosh of course.

Interesting comment about Salah following today's match.

Salah's dribbling at speed has got to be faster than almost any other player in the world. He will, at times this season, make people wonder what on earth went so wrong while at Chelsea that he couldn't succeed with the Stamford Bridge club. The pace and verve and dynamism that he injects into any attack is frightening and he will do some exciting things in a Liverpool shirt.

Apparently, Couts gave his best performance of last season playing in the deeper role. Scored 2 and assisted 1 against West Ham, the first time he'd been involved in 3 goals in a single game for Liverpool.

Having watched him in all pre-season games thus far, for the life of me I can't see why Ryan Kent should be considered for a loan. He is a fantastic young player, great acceleration, speed, control. I'd keep him in the squad. Same goes for Woodburn, I think he is just 17, but if he's good enough, and he is, he's old enough.

Imagine you're a defender, slightly cumbersome on the ball. Playing against Liverpool.

The centre mid trying to keep possession passes back to you.
As soon as the ball leaves the centre mid you see Salah and Mane closing down..

The heart will facking race then!
