physically he seemed spent after such a long season
he must regret going to the olympics...i think its affected him physically and mentally

also think djokovic somewhat bottled it...all that pressure he probably put on himself to do the season grand slam

13% - Manchester United have lost seven of their 11 UEFA Champions League matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjær. 13% of their total defeats in the competition have come under Solskjær (7/54), despite the Norwegian only being in charge for 4.8% of their matches (11/231). Fall.

I don't even think if Messi was still there it would have made much of a difference for Barca. Bayern are a level above them as a team currently.

yes, even with messi they'd still be gash

farza have the poorest squad i can think of un my living memory

they'd be a mid table team in the premier league

I wonder if Barca are starting to realise that appointing coaches that aren’t top level isn’t the best policy?

Can’t get away with it without Messi now.

Eduard Romeu, Barcelona's economic vice-president, has praised the way in which Real Madrid president Florentino Perez runs the club."It is possible that they could sign Mbappe and Haaland. Real Madrid are a big club and they are very strong financially" Romeu said on El Partidazo de COPE.
"If we had done our due diligence in recent years, we would be in the same situation. The way Florentino Perez is running the club, you have to take your hat off to him. On an economic and business level, nobody is going to take advantage of Mr. Perez.

"Neutral fans’ mouths will have been watering in anticipation of two of European football’s biggest clubs locking horns in the opening round of the UEFA Champions League."

It's a shame really. There was a time not all that long ago when this definitely would've been the case, even if neither team was at the height of its powers.

The frequency with which these classic European clubs meet and the relatively low stakes of most group stage encounters have completely watered these clashes down nowadays.

these heavyweight clashes have become diluted to nothing in the champions league era

the old european cup was in many ways much better

very good win for Rayo...Great start for Falcao too

Yeah forza, they were. Shakhtar too. We've traded Munching gladback for the sheriff of mauled over.

I even remember the two sides meeting in the UEFA Cup and it having a much greater "big night" feeling than this crap.
