I read something convoluted like they’re taking action against themselves (which I imagine means the former BoD), the same way as it seems they have actually bought some of their tv rights off themselves in the future so they can book the revenues now, or some weird schidt like that.

I absolutely cannot love enough how this all stems from their obsession with ‘getting even for Di Stefano’.

Yeah that’s what I’ve read. Apparently they are suggesting that it’s malicious intent and that De Jong, and others, are complicit. Apparently they may actually have grounds to make this claim.

Especially as Madrid have kept cleaning up in Europe.

It’s like them getting even actually had the ghost of Di Stefano out there inhabiting their bodies like it was 50’s Madrid again.

What’s all the tax thing then? Something new? I’m not up to date on that.

Something to do with then depositing €150m in a subsidiary of one of the ‘levers’ and then La Liga rejecting it on their accounts, however, as what they did is legal in Spanish law the transaction meant they had to pay capital gains on their own money that they’d tried to dupe La Liga with.

I don’t know if it is true, but it’s facking hilarious if it is.

I knew the level bit, but didn’t realise they’d have to pay tax on it. Makes total sense though. 😂

Remember when Edin chastised me for calling Barca "Farza"

Now he knows why I call them that name

Isco's joined Sevilla. Could prove a shrewd signing if they haven't gone overboard with the wages.

Only just seen we've sold Miguel Gutiérrez to Girona for €5M, albeit retaining 50% of his transfer rights, with a €40M release clause.

Not such a bad deal for us. Girona ought to mean a healthy number of minutes in LaLiga. If he does well, we either pocket a €25M profit (€5M sale + €20M for 50% of the sell-on), or get back a Liga-experienced player for €15M (i.e. 50% of whatever someone else is prepared to pay for him minus the €5m already banked from the initial sale).

Daz, on that thread yesterday you mentioned Chelsea's poor transfer business in recent seasons ... I can see the list being extended with the £55m they've just blown on Cucurella after a single decent season in the PL.

I dunno, I think he’ll end up being good business for them. He’ll be a really good left sided cb in this Chelsea team.

Linked to Cody Gakpo now after being priced out of a move for Antony. Anyone seen much of him?
