This could be the 2nd consecutive season without silverware for Madrid.
Would Zidane get sacked if this happens?
Peks, there simply isn't enough penetration. Proper teams are happy to let us have a go because we can't overload areas or move the ball fast enough, and the only player we have who's capable of creating an imbalance on his own would need the goal to be as wide as the entire byline.
The players are better than what they're showing, but there's very little imagination as regards attacking patterns. That's why our best results come when we play on the break. We can't open spaces up on our own, we need opponents to be open in order to do some kind of damage.

yeah, and what happens because we cant open spaces in attack, is we inevitably cross the ball
which is why giving jovic so little playing time puzzles me a bit
as for vincius ..for all the good things he does, i dont think i've ever seen a forward in top tier football who's as bad a finisher

Enough about what you think of United ioag, what about Madrid?

We have a milder from of coronavirus. Yours is Wuhan-extra.
Actually, I'm not even sure that's fair.
In terms of both the football itself and of the capacity to get a result, Spain's big two have both dropped off a cliff in comparison to three, maybe four years ago. A few teams have realised this already, but the PL and UK media in particular have offered us far more respect than our actually performances on the pitch have merited. The word has inevitably got round though.
There's still a fair amount of quality in the squads, but neither side has been particularly well managed (that's a bit of an understatement, actually). Having said that, I'm not unhappy with Zidane or how he's been doing things, but he's no revolutionary and getting back to a more competitive level with him is going to take a bit longer than our traditional sense of urgency generally allows for.
There will be a fair chance of him getting the sack at the end of the season if we bow out to City and Barsa beat us to the league title, but a change of manager will only work if we actually get someone in with more up to date ideas, along with a clear picture of what he wants to do and of what he needs in order to achieve it.
Otherwise we'll just continue to drift in a way not too dissimilar to what's happened to United since Fergie left.
Despite the systemic issues you clearly aren’t helped by the lack of individual quality in the forwards, especially on the goal scoring side of things.

Amazing that in this day and age BT Sport can't even manage to show the other early kick-offs on their extra channels.
They're showing Wolves who are 4-0 up ffs. I know they're a British side but still.
Wanted to watch Roma but Porto Leverkusen will have to do.
That was fun.
Brugge aren't great and playing against 10 men made things a lot easier but we've struggled in games like that before so it made for a nice change.
It's probably the slickest we've been all season. Just wish we'd approach games like that more often. Tempo was good from the start.
Bruno's settled quite well already. Seems to have had a positive impact on some of the squad.
Goal of the round surely:

Best football we’ve played this season.
Arsenal
I fell in love with Arsenal because of Thierry Henry.
As the years have gone by, I resent him for it more and more.
BREAKING: Liverpool 'would NOT be guaranteed Premier League title if the Government orders sports events to be cancelled to combat the spread of coronavirus'
Please
This would just be fantastic.
I'm currently debating attending again this season if fears over this grow.
We had our first confirmed case in Northern Ireland yesterday. Somebody coming back from Italy, travelling to Dublin airport which is where I normally fly from and they travelled up to Belfast where they're now being kept in hospital.
Maybe it was for the best we decided not to go last night.
First British bloke confirmed dead just now in Japan. I was at the match yesterday and thankfully not a lot of tourists about.
They will start cancelling big events like football and try and prevent big gatherings of crowds if things escalate.
When is the title likely to be.....I can't even finish that sentence.
Hopefully the Government and the Premier League see sense before then. Just shut everything down now.
I'd go along with that. Just cancel the season now. Forget everything about it. Been a horrible year.
Good points. For the safety of the British public it needs to be cancelled. Suicides will go through the roof otherwise.

My wrist keeps getting attracted to the knives at home, can’t see why..
VAR has a lot to answer for.
So do City.
I don't think a two year European ban and a hefty fine is a big enough punishment for allowing this to happen.
Just reading that Lewandowski will miss more than two games due to injury for the first time in his entire career.
He's only missed more than one game twice.
That's ridiculous.
