I don’t think we a particularly well coached team in possession, but our ability to play out from the back is a problem with the individuals we have. The back four aren’t great on the ball so we struggle playing out against pressing teams.
I guess I’m still unconvinced Utd have the type of players who keep the fight when the going gets tough. I hate that kind of Roy Keane leave punditry/comment usually but I am unsure of the teams resilience.

Yeah there is still a fragility there.
We've been riding a wave where pretty much everything's gone for us for a while without suffering any major set back or disappointment until now so it'll be interesting to see how we react especially as we're entering our most difficult period of post-lockdown. It'll also be interesting to see Ole's approach to squad rotation over the next few games.
A more congested fixture list and one or two injuries might just knock us off balance a bit.
Yeah I think a game like today would show the difference between having Poch or Ole

Say that quietly.
I said it before we signed him that Maguire’s passing ability isn’t grate, he was good at progressing the ball for Leicester by carrying it forward rather than passing it, but we aren’t encouraging him to really do that as he’s slow and will get caught out of position too much.
Shaw and Lindelof are average at progressing the ball as well and AWB looks like a baby giraffe with the ball at his feet.

That Martial one on one miss in the early minutes of the first half was criminal, how did he not bury it

I think his reign has been quite promising overall, but maybe I’m biased. Next season will be a better indicator
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t know how good he is yet, all I know is for all that money spent on top class players - getting in a top class manager would also make a Lot of sense
Positional play is important but so is the quality of the players, especially against good pressing sides like Southampton. Against most sides in the league it’s not that big an issue, to be fair. But it’ll be something we need to look at regardless of the manager. It’s why coaches sign better ball playing defenders rather than just trying to coach more limited footballers to get better.
Akinfenwa getting promoted to the championship with Wycombe Wanderers is one of the gratest things to happen in football.

Lindelof was good at that as well for Benfica but he passed the ball better in Portugal than he's done in England. Big difference between the two leagues of course but Lindelof was a dominant, aggressive and confident defender over there. It's strange but he looked bigger there too.
Now though he barely looks half the player.
AWB's legs don't look like they're attached at times.
I’ve not seen a United cb get manhandled by opposition strikers like Lindelof does since Jonnny Evans.

True.
Lampard will get replaced with a pragmatic manager and Chelsea will win the league in a couple of years.
I’m pretty confident about that happening.
Nah I think Woodward’s lining him up to piiiiss me off.
I ordered one online the other day cos apparently the material ones are way more comfy
Ooooops sorry taking about face masks on another thread
Inter are in second now. Lazio have fallen apart.
