I cba’d posting it on the article on the Utd board as people are so polarised - but I have Sancho reservations. I’m unsure how good he actually is but Utd can absorb the risk right now. I think he is the right signing but really don’t know how he will do.

Sancho looks an incredible talent. I think he’ll be one of the best players in the league. He’ll obviously need to get used to playing in a new team, against better defenders, but he’s got everything to be a huge success.

Sancho, Martial, Rashford and Greenwood is a potentially an amazing attack. There’s a really nice balance of attributes across those four players.

There are risks on every transfer. Some are very expensive risks e.g. Torres, Alexis to name a few

Hope Sancho flops, but that's extremely unlikely. Really not looking forward to playing United's attack next season

He’s got so much time on his hands to prove himself even if he doesn’t hit the ground running, he’s only turned 20 a few months ago. Rashford and Sterling didn’t start producing regularly in the prem until they were 22.

Yeah I think you’re right the only things I wonder are:
* his decision making is so good already it isn’t likely to get much better surely. Usually with young players they lack this skill and when they develop it with experience they just get better and better - I don’t feel he has much scope to grow regarding that but happy to be wrong.
* he likes to have/requires a lot of touches and take ons which he won’t be afforded in the PL. I feel one-on-one defending in the PL is generally superior in that aspect to the Bundesliga as well
* similar to the point above he likes a lot of touches whenever he receives the ball, so does Martial, so does Greenwood seem to, so did Rashford (admittedly he has become so much more creative and fluid since the restart). I wonder if they will slow the game down too much as a unit, or if the vision of Fernandes/Pogba combat this.

Part of me wonders if the profile Utd need is a quality off the ball player like a Salah/Sterling, as opposed to a dribbler - but I really don’t have any clue it’s just a hunch.

I guess the thing is the the room for improvements can be more subtle and mental. Such as movement off the ball, consistency and ability to raise his game in big games. Having superb decision making already isn’t something that will hinder improvement.

A dribbler out wide is something we really need. Especially against teams that press us. Our wingers do drop off to receive the ball but can struggle to drag us up the pitch when facing their own goal - it’s a reason I’d like Grealish as well.

As good as Rashford is, he’s better running with the ball when there’s space or off the ball. He’s not got the same ability in tight spaces, or when closed down, like Sancho and Grealish have. So I wouldn’t agree we need an off the ball player on the wing. It’ll take some of the burden off of Bruno and Pogba to force a creative pass as well. And we won’t have to funnel all of our attacks down the left. It’s a real problem for us as our right hand side has lacked quality for years.

Yeah fair enough that’s interesting I’d just assume you have so many left sided dribblers you’d want a right sided guy to break the lines and run in behind.

I think that’s a good point, he could/will develop that off the ball stuff as well with game time

I think that’ll become Rashford’s role more. He’s the best off the ball runner in the squad. Ideally they’ll all develop that aspect to a good standard. All our attackers are still pretty young, apart from Ighalo.

I thought Casillas had already retired. What a career he’s had.

I can’t believe it. Praising a Saints guy for performances based on his relationship with a guy from the 90s who played for Barsnley and a Bournemouth winger
