I read somewhere that his brother has outscored him over the last 3 seasons.

that's the only consolation

they're in an even worse state than us

Financially they are. I don't think there's that much in it on the pitch and have the feeling they might even be a bit further down the road to recovery than us by the end of the season.

On the back of that post on the Cavani thread, peks, I find it a bit ironic that Alex is technically the better footballer of the two brothers, but that it's largely because of that that he's had to traverse the backwaters of football while his older brother has become an established member of Madrid's senior squad.

i agree Alex is probably the more talented (he was certainly considered so in the R Madrid youth teams)

such are the uncertainties of professional football, it's not always talent that makes a better career

there are just so many variables

as i've seen with my brother and other youngsters that came through the academies at the same time as him

Fabio was always rated the better of the Da Silva twins, but Rafael forged the better career. Loved Rafael.

Arsenal really are up there in the worst run clubs in England. Usually form doesn’t matter *too* much in a NLD but if we lose this weekend it will be a travesty - especially considering they are without Partey

Not a chance you will lose. Best outcome we can hope for is a draw, and even then, that's unlikely.

I can see this being brutal. 3-0/4-1 to Spurs.

We have the early Europa slot - albeit away. That may not have any effect as you guys won’t play any starting guys I think? You’ve basically won you’re group right?

We've qualified for the R32 already by winning all our Europa group games so far, but I don't think it makes a difference for Sunday.

This team has nothing about them. We will lose badly. I just want it to be over already.

I sincerely hope you’re right . I don’t know why but I think this must be one of the worst derbies for both sets of fans feeling really negative about

Why would you be feeling negative though? You're top of the league, scoring lots of goals, not conceding many and looking like a very settled side.

We are 14th in the table

I just can't see us being able to handle the pace, athleticism and power of your players.

We're likely to field Xhaka and Ceballos in midfield, who aren't a good or effective partnership in the middle against mobile, energetic midfield players.

Unless all your players have a very off day, I can't see a positive outcome from this derby. It's the last type of game we need right now.

Cos we lost 5-2 when we were 2-0 up and 10 points ahead and am permanently scarred

You are right though, in terms of personnel and form we are just better in almost every department. I don’t know why I’m just not confident

Yeah, normally our quality players turn up for this fixture, but we just don't have any anymore. Think it'll be a comfortable spurs victory, unfortunately.

If I supported another team I’d probably
Say kovacic for dribbler

He’s a pretty awesome dribbler but it’s become a parody

Will never forget when he said "maybe" xavi and Iniesta were better retainers of the ball than makelele

Can't believe that thread's 110 comments in and everyone's kept civil.

More than half of those are probably mine, mind.
