He was pretty shiiiiit, tbh. The only show he put on were his theatrics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really?
Only watched the highlights and I know 90 minutes can be very different, but he looked like he was at the heart of everything PSG created, whether spreading the ball, providing key passes, setting up team mates or losing his markers. Good corners too, all of them into danger zones.
He made some good passes and scored twice but I thought he was pretty poor overall. Spent most of the game rolling around, more so than usual.
Remembering how Maradona used to get kicked about back in the day makes you wonder whether Neymar wouldn't have just been murdered.
Imagine it. He wasn’t even the worst on the pitch for it anyway. Paredes’ reaction to Fred’s head butt was by far the most pathetic play acting in the game.
That's sadly pretty standard nowadays though
Yeah it is. It’s the thing I hate most in football. Even if they’re going down easy from slight touches you can kind of make allowances for it if they’re running at pace. But when someone puts their head towards another player and they fall down like they’ve been shot winds me up no end. They should get sent off for simulation.
Good old Diego Pablo set the standards a long time ago
Imagine Neymar in the infamous Barca-Bilbao fite at end of Copa finale

When running fast, the slitest touch is enuff too unbalance u or fall over.
Agree on the pretending 2b hurt sheet, is embarrassing n disgusting.
Well, Tuckle survives 2 fite another day

He would've exploded. Arms, legs, blood n guts all over the place.
The falling over at the slightest suggestion of a face off is disgusting, but when adequately over-exaggerated it's quite hilarious.
Love those South American clips that start off with a simulated head-butt and end up with a fight involving all the players, subs, coaching staff, ground staff, 150 fans, the ambulance men and half a dozen cops joining in (the latter punching the visiting team players of course!)
Tbh I’ve never cared about the play acting as it’s the only way to guarantee a ref will actually make a decision is with the theatrics.
Did you think it was a red card anyway daz?
Ozzy man reviews is grate.
Hmmm I dunno really as it didn’t look like he really touched him.
He was lucky though as you often see them sent off for similar. Then actually got sent off for a challenge that wasn’t even a foul.
ref was correct in just the imo
just a heet of the moment thingy, no need 2 spoil the game over it.
I’ve always had in my head that petulant lash outs, especially into somebody else’s face is always a red. I think the laws need changing a bit regarding that all - I think players should be allowed to get away with an annoyed push (when ball is out of play). Safest way to get out frustration - but if it gets written into law then it will be abused quickly (probably by Liverpool or Mourinho).
I think they’re a bit vague with the noncey dog kiss thing footballers do. I don’t think those should be red cards. I actually think the player that fall over cheating should receive the red.
There’s a rumour that Sarri could takeover at Arsenal if Arteta gets sacked. That’d be a really interesting appointment if Arsenal commit to it.

I get why they fall over - once refs start punishing fouls where the player doesn’t react I think players can make the most of whatever they want.

Do you think the Arsenal players have the mentality 2 take on and execute Sarri's fitness/tactical requirements?
Sarri just doesn’t care one dot about rivalries
