update:
Dad still in hospital (5th day now) receiving supplement oxygen via nasal cannula....stable...not getting any worse..hopefully the steroids will reduce his lung inflammation and his SATs will get back to normal soon..Currently his SATs aren't to bad at around 93

My Op has been postponed again
Don't know when it's going to rescheduled ...I reckon March-April time tbh

Dang, thanks for the update and continued best wishes

The other questions on that quora link.

Horrible that your dad’s going through that, but glad to hear he’s stable.

Covid’s weird. My uncle went into hospital with it and managed to come back out (he shouldn’t have given his age and heart condition). My mum’s got copd, and got covid last week but seems to be okay now.

Hi peks,

Had a feeling your op might be put back again. Are you having to make any life adjustments because of that, or can you go on as you normally would?

Sorry to hear about your old man, but I hope he remains stable and eventually pulls out if it. My thoughts are with you all.

well i've been back at home for the past week
the latest covid wave is so bad over here, companies are sending home ppl who are more at risk...in the case of my company because they are only allowing one person in an office and one person in a lab at a time

just like back last spring when i was "working" from home (given my job it's hard for me to do that, as i'm an analytical chemist, and need lab equipment etc to do my job)

officially , i'm now on sickness leave leading upto and after my op

actually had a phone call from the surgical secretary today....just to confuse matters even more

she said they may start doing some elective surgeries again quickly, and i may have it done late jan/early feb after all

absolute mess of a year

I hope you can get it done as soon as possible. It must be stressful and frustrating to have it moved time and again, but I suppose they're doing the best they can given the situation. Do you get your full wages in the UK when on sick leave?

posted on 15/1/21

I think so up to a certain point which is like maybe 6 months?

Absolutely dreading playing Sheff Utd ffs thanks Jose

So many fans only open their eyes to what it means to have Mourinho managing your club after the fact.

It's amusing to read a lot of United fans nowadays saying to Spurs fans the exact same things they were warned about when they signed him.

In fairness though, even though I never wanted to see Mourinho at Madrid and foresaw a lot of the downfalls, I never in my life imagined he was going to be quite as insufferable as he turned out to be. Like pony to racing horse magnitudes.

i'm on full pay.
worked at my place for nearly 13 years now, so i have some benefits

dad seems to have turned the corner....SATs going up, feeling a bit better
incidentally a scan on his lungs that he had a few days ago, showed an aortic aneurysm ....which will have to looked at after all this covid business is done

Fack me, when it rains, it pours.

Oh well, one day at a time now, I suppose. Good to hear he seems to be on the mend, let's hope it continues that way.

Though I suppose that looking on the bright side, if he hadn't had that scan, that might have continued to deteriorate until it was too late.

Arteta starting to develop a habit of exaggerating injuries in his interviews.

I do think we seemed to be more resistant than most. The Chelsea ties put a lot of fans off but we also had the hindsight of Chelsea/Utd car crashes. Issue with our ja board is those who were in support shouted loudest

that's exactly what i think

aortic aneurysms give no symptoms until it's too late....a silent killer

hopefully it can be managed, if it's not too big or fast growing
even an op, given his age, can be done with endovascular surgery these days...without the need to open him up

posted on 15/1/21

Lucky they caught that, peks. Hopefully the delay to your op won’t cause too much damage, but it’s sadly one of the huge problems with the pandemic. So many people are suffering due to the inability of the the NHS to focus on other serious health conditions.

Who is the most boring manager in the PL?
Jose, Arteta or Bruce? I reckon Bruce 1st, Arteta 2nd and Jose 3rd.

Pellegrino was one of the worst I’ve seen in the PL. what happened to him at Leganes?
