Ultimately the aim is to win trophies, everyone agrees.
To consistently win trophies, or to be in contention for the big ones, needs more than a minor cup win. You need good foundations, a good coach and a good squad. Unless you are backed by a Sheik Mansour it does not happen overnight.
Why on Earth Liverpool fans would think of moaning is beyond me. The coach is there, a new stand is in place, and the side showed flashes of brilliance last year. It is one of the best seasons you have had in the league over the last decade or so.
Not wummimg there, it was not perfect but the signs are there that young side can improve further.
Come Septemeber 1st you may well have laid out another 120m quid.

Exactly
Unfortunately a large portion of our fan base are spoilt children.
I'd sooner see FSG spent the TV money on the stadium than on 10's of millions on players. Making a profit on transfers means, IMO, they've got their heads screwed on. The team is improving under Klopp and he's said he only wants to buy a player that's right for the club and way we play. That's not to say I'm blind to our shortcomings last season, like our defence and keeper situation. Nor am I saying everything's rosy. But success, away from the Chelsea/City model, doesn't come overnight. We've spent fortunes on dross in the past and where did that get us?
