But what would people in Ireland do when Celtic played Liverpool/Man Utd?

You've got to remember that the Scottish game has suffered dreadfully for the last year or so after the cruel and untimely relegation of Dundee United, which of course should have been stopped for the good of the game.

When the tangerine pound is re-established in the top flight then the game will exponentially improve up here.

Ivan you might need to explain where Dundee is for the people who don't live in, well, Dundee.

Dundee is like Narnia, except more magical and amazing.

Except we don't have a talking lion. We do have Jeremy the Bear though. Or we did. Jeremy might be dead actually.

Would be interesting to see how you do in the PL. Have a fantastic manager who would be one of the best in the PL, but the team, in my opinion, is of bottom 5 quality.

Reckon BR could get you to 11th/12th though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Based on the £2M we get in Scotland or the £100m you get for being bottom of the EPL?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What has the cash of the teams have to do with anything? It wasn't a long term point, just an observation about the current Celtic team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It has a lot to do with it.

I get your point about current squads and agree we'd be bottom half. Probably about the middle safe from relegation but not pushing top 8.

However if we were to play a season in the EPL we wouldn't be going in with the squad we'd have. We would be strengthening all over. A huge amount of our income comes from having 50000 season ticket holders and getting into the Champions League. The TV money is insignificant. So getting £100M would completely transform our team
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree.

I think it would take longer than you assume though, Newcastle have a similar income with regards to tickets. Plus if you went to the PL I doubt you would be allowed to be in the CL.

My biggest criticism is that I don't think BR is particularly good at signing players, so that could be a real issue as well. It is also going to be crazily difficult to break the top 6 any time soon.

Would just be interesting to see where your 'Invincibles' end up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well they wouldn't be Invincibles for very long 😂👍

Look, we all realise we'd struggle and certainly in the first 2-3 years it'd be just about survival. I think we'd do that because I don't see many teams outside the top 5 or 6 taking all 3 points away from Celtic Park. We'd also pick up some points on the road and there's always the shock results which go both ways.

We'd settle though and find our place but no, we wouldn't win it and as a complete guess we'd settle anywhere around the mid table mark.

Why would we want that is our question?

We get some European competition every year and we usually win something. It's good to watch and we have our rivalries. I for one wouldn't want to give that up for mediocrity.

I'm personally very happy with the signings Rodgers has made, the buy-to-develop model is the one we've employed for a while, we've done okay so far and he seems to buy into it. I'd like to be in the position of Chelsea, offer the bigger money to young lads but to actually play them and enjoy their development.

I'm not saying you would, or why you would want it. Yet it would be an interesting experiment to see if a team with the right foundations & a good manager could succeed in the PL.

I have made this point on here before Curly. The 2 team gang I call them over here. They do my fooking head in.

They will be all in the pub for an early game if Celtic are playing cheering and shouting together then utd or Liverpool are on in the afternoon they are back up in a change of shirt and at each others throats. Its quite amusing tbh.

PS This is not a dig at Celtic fans just the 2 team idiots.
