Ive often wondered how the sane germans felt as hitler rose to take power.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aaahh, the Halycon days before social media
Just imagine the destruction a nut job like that could have carried out at the with social media behind him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine he would have woken up at the crack of dawn each day, sent a few abusive tweets out,
Perhaps even generalised a whole religion during his election campaign, denigrate the citizens of neighbouring countries even and largely encourage his far right following.
perhaps even deflected blame for them

Everybody slagging me off but not one person willing to offer up one viable solution for this problem
Let's just let more innocent people die shall we.. as long as we remain "sane"

Apparently one of the victims was a mother carrying a pram. Just saw a graphic video on liveleak too showing a young lady drenched in blood being tended to.
Some sources say he was a failed asylum seeker but to highlight this would be to play into the hands of anti-refugee rhetoric when the evidence suggests a lot of the higher profile attacks are carried out by homegrown terrorists. Most of whom are either 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants who reject Western culture, unlike their parents and grandparents who in all likeliness willingly chose to settle this country for economic reasons.
This is not a case of ready-made criminals being imported into Europe in the last few years, but of a fundamentally incompatible sub-culture - which has often skipped a generation - being allowed to exist alongside European values. It's not being imported - it's already been here for a generation or two. These attacks are just the tip of the iceberg of hatred and incompatibility.

To tell the truth would be uncomfortable?
I failed asylum seeker should be in the country in the first place.
Exactly Arseee, a failed driving test person should never ever get behind the wheel. Just like no retakes no appeals whatsoever.
"The point behind this is, we simply need to realise that Islam is the problem here, regardless of whether it's interpretates wrongly or rightly
Everybody knows what needs to be done, it's just a case that nobody will do it"
=====
Swap the word Islam for Judaism and this would be (rightly) considered as anti-Semitic and prejudiced.
Yet it seems if you use the word Islam in this way, people won't bat an eyelid.
As for the rest of this person's comments, they are absolutely disgusting and I'm pretty annoyed that they've still been able to stay on. Peddling this clash of civilisations nonsense gets us nowhere and causes an even bigger divide between us than there already is.
Like some here have already said, some of these 'solutions' don't deal with the root causes of the problem.

No, it's not about covering up the truth but about not getting distracted by refugees and missing the bigger threat which is home-grown terrorism.

Anyway, deporting failed asylum seekers is not as easy as you and Maf make out to be. Most (especially if they're fraudulent) will rip up their passports before claiming asylum. Not only to hide evidence of where they're actually from (i.e. not Syria), but also to prevent them being sent back at all.
Makes me laugh how people think it's so easy to deport/send people back, as if other countries are gleefully lining up to accept all the people that this country doesn't want.

The root cause of the problem is Islamism. It is killing people all over the world, from places as varied as the Phillipines to Finland. This is not specifically the same thing as Islam but they are connected.
Europeans have a right to ask whether or not more or less of this would be better or worse.
We can of coure say it's a small issue caried out by a minority which only affects a minority. People can do that but they just need to hope it isn't their kid at the wrong concert etc.

Yes they are both problems.
But why is making one worse a sensible solution?

Because I think it's confusing the root cause of terrorism and leading to resentment of genuine refugees (as few as they may be amongst all the fraudulent economic migrants) who need help.
To everyone subtly calling me racisist or anti Semitic or whatever else
What's more important to you?
Your familys (and your) safety, or the feelings of others
Just ignore it, those words are banded about so often these days they've lost their true meaning. Just a way to shut down and ostracise people you disagree with without actually having to engage them.

You're completely and utterly wrong on this, to the point where I don't see any purpose in us actually having a conversation about it because everything you have said on this thread says to me that you seem very entrenched in your views. I'm clearly not going to be able to change your mind on this, and I don't have much hope that I'll be able to make you see things from a different perspective, so I'm not going to waste my time.

You know as well as I do that the xenophobic and prejudiced vitriol you have been spewing has far deeper consequences than merely just 'hurting people's feelings'. It creates an us vs them mentality which, as we have seen across Europe, manifests into physical violence and resurgence of far-Right groups. You are empowering these people, whether you realise it or not.
