I am pleased for Bats that we did not sign him.
I think your assessment is quite honest OP. However, most of the Chelsea fans will not be honest enough to admit it.

I fear you're right.
I think its a wrong policy of Chelsea to not offer at least two year long contract to players having 30 plus age.Ox and Barkley could have done a job from the bench in last 30 to 35 matches from the bench.
I'm not sure we offered Llorente a contract. We did not have a bid accepted. I don't think we were willing to pay the money Swansea wanted.
T L L L how much money were Swansea demanding for Llorente?
A perfect assessment Eric!
If it is Emanalo who controls transfer policy, he should be in Romans office this morning having to explain himself!!
Which is way too much for a 32 year old who we will only offer a 1 year deal to.
Not bothered about any of thoses misses, although I think Ox could have become a grest wing back had he desired it
The bit that is all wrong is Ake, Chal8bah and RLC. They could have played a lot of games for us this season.
Ruben wouldn't have played much at all. Anyway he has been replaced by another youngster in Musonda. Plus he needs a full season of football.
Ake and Chalobah should have stayed.

True. But it's hard to convince them they will, seeing that last season Conte barely played, even though there were times he could have been played them more.
If they didn't want to be at the club, it's best to let them go if they are fully committed.
It's nice to see young players starting to choose playing regular football over a move to Chelsea. I'd be concerned if I was a Chelsea fan. Title holders struggling to attract players
I am.bit dissappointed that we didn't get Llorente as he would have solved our striking options this season. I think the board waited for far too long to seal the deal. Don't think our board expected Spurs to meet Swansea's asking price and that they would offer Llorente generous contracts.

I am concerned - but not by the players we've failed to attract but the ones we've let go!
Batshuayi cost £30m and has scored goals when he has played. If Abraham has a good season he'll be back next Summer. I don't care at all about Llorente.
Has it ever occured to anyone that Conte had no interest in playing Chalobah (or Ake) substantially, hence Chalobah leaving.
Conte CHOSE to hand Chalobah & Ake very minimal minute.
You really think Chalobah leaves if Conte had the intention of actually giving him worthwhile minutes? And I don't mean 5-10 mins at end of the match, in & out of matchday squads.
Therefore Conte shouldn't be absolved of blame.
Really makes no sense blaming the board (namely Emenalo) on the basis of Ake & Chalobah being sold, when Conte barely used said players at his disposal (especially Chalobah, who in my opinion is a very good player and was short-changed by CONTE).
I'll be fuming if Conte treats Christensen the same way this season, when there is capacity to play more. Deserves regular starts.
Can only assume Barkley and Ox were players Conte wanted, but ultimately failed to get. Surely you shouldn't be so happy you avoided these players your trusted manager was after. Do you know better than Conte ?

I don't know about the Barkley situation but has it occurred to you that Conte wanted AOC to play a specific role, ie RWB, which AOC did not wish to play?
If he wanted to play CM specifically then he was right to turn the move down, as we would have been the wrong club for him and he for us!

That's neither here nor there really. I was responding to the OP about them being happy to miss out on Ox.
