Frank De Boer will go down as one of the worst appointments in the history of the English league.

TBF I thought Van Gaal (as a proven winner) would have been the right man for Spurs at the time - shows what I know!!

after 4 games dnt know how anyone can judge if a manager has been a success or not, ok 4 defeats gives a miniscule example but they brought him in specifically as a manager who will try turning them into a on the ground footballing team, I suppose the board expected that to happen within a month with the massive array of talent cp have eh

For Chelsea I'd say Koeman. He was strongly linked with us for a while before we ended up getting Conte.

There was talk of us going for Moyes after Redknapp was sacked so I'd say him.

As for player, I'd say Gary Hooper.

Player - The only one that comes to mind is Bowyer.

Fecking countless number of managers. Pearson, Mclaren, Nigel Clough, Graham Alexander, Roy Hodgson, De Boer, Laudrup...

Mind you, we also got David Hockaday, so there you are.

Woy was my biggest nightmare. I thought Souness was bad but Woy was a joke. Far too old for the premiership.

You could imagine him at half time when you are getting beat coming into the changing room stuttering "Its alwight boys chins up"

Capello, Moyes (rumoured Roman wanted him), Sven, Deschamps

And a countless number of flashy foreign sounding managers Roman has apparently been set on over the years that ive forgotten

On the flipside

Arsene Wenger was approached by Abramovich and by Man Utd.

With a budget of £150 million a season to think what he would have delivered to either club is mouthwatering.

What a farticle. Ajax hadn't won the league for 7 years before de Boer came. Despite having Luis Suarez for the last 3 of those years.

When de Boer took over from Martin Jol, Ajax sold Suarez. In the years following every year Ajax sold their best players, like Eriksen, Vertonghen, Alderweireld, without investing in new players. Every year Frank de Boer had to start over with quite a new team, a team that got younger every year as he asked for reinforcements, but had to work with youth players as replacements instead.

Every year therefor the start of the competition was pretty bad, with lots of games lost or drawn in the first months, before the players started understanding his tactics.

Wonder if Parish and the Palace board are aware of this, and the fact that his teams after Christmas were virtually unbeaten, apart from the one year when PSV won the league by a landslide.

And the guy never got a chance at Inter. He was only appointed head coach two weeks before the start of the competition. Inter had a dreadful preparation for that season under Roberto Mancini, who knew he was going, and didn't put in any effort at all. Inter got thrashed by Bayern, PSG, and your Spurs (6-1) during friendlies, and the players were totally out of shape.

How was FDB a flop? Wasn't backed in the transfer market and sacked after 4 games with at least one of them games they should have won but for dismal shooting.
