I was a bit worried about how he would handle west ham after he struggled at times against t Abrahams, but thought he was superb, there were a couple of headers away in the 2nd half that were great defending with carrol all over him. To settle this quickly is a great sign for his future, seems to have it all to go right to the top

Got a proper education on English football on Saturday.

After a shakey first couple of challenges against Carroll he really cane out very well in the end.

Still got lots to learn especially with getting to tight with players but for someone so young I’m amazed how he’s settled.

The person most happy with this signing is Vertonghen, He’s become the first ever box to box centre back and he’s loving it

It is hard to tell how competent he is on the ball, but maybe because Alderweirled and Vertonghen are so exceptionally good on the ball & play higher up on the pitch it doesnt matter.

yeah I don't think I have ever seen two CB's play as aggressively as Toby/Jan are this season. The latter I think has the most passes in the league.

I think he is okay on the ball, but all he has to do is give it to verts or toby and they do the rest. Vert has been superb this season, imo had a better start than toby who I thought didn't do aurier any favours on sat

Verts has loved bombing forward, and looks so comfortable on the ball.

If he carries on at this rate he'll be up there with Defoe in the offside stakes

Saw him against West Ham and Swansea. Thought he cost your side a lot of time and gave away chances with silly fouls, he looks very raw atm as he did in the Europa Final against us.

Good versus West Ham, but they were very poor.

This aside, I think he will be a good player. Reminds me a lot of Bailly

5 stars for this article to counteract the 1 star given by some Chelsea or waste Ham chump

Swansea was comfortably his worst game for us.

I think the Bailly comparison is a fair one, both very strong 1v1 defenders who rely on good physical attributes and are both good at attacking the ball. Think both are still more suspect in a back 4 than a back 5.

great prospect-i would like to see less "dining in" for him and esp Aurier (Aurier has a habit of sloppy positioning and making up or it with his pace)

i'd still like to see Sanchez on the right and Toby in the middle

Dining in? Unfamiliar to this term.

The one in the middle has less passing than the other two so think that’s why he’s thier. Plus he’s got the speed to cover in behind

yeah i get that but you can cover behind and cover the full back playing RCB. Dier played RCB and he is no where near as good on the ball as Toby

Fair but I feel poch probably feels it’s the easiest place for him to learn

Yeah pretty straight forward if you realise it was a typo and not a weird expression

Admittedly at the time of us signing him I had only seen him play twice. So I didn't really know much about him. But I remember disagreeing with a few on here over whether he would be slotted straight in to our starting 11. I just couldn't see Poch spending that much on a DF for him to be slowly intergreted. Even when Wanyama comes back to the fold, I still believe Sanchez will keep his place. Early, but looks a great signing.

I don't think Sanchez was bad against Swansea at all I felt it was the system son at left wing back poor verts was all over the place trying to cover the space for him and trippier was horrendous which pulled Toby about thus affecting Sanchez centrally. Tammy Abraham was absoloutely brilliant though for the record loved watching him play a very talented boy.

Sanchez is very raw but you can see his abilitiy with Toby and verts talking him through a game he will be up to speed in no time at all. Had our pants pulled down with the price but transfers are like that these days. There is a lot of potential in Sanchez i can see why the comparisons to king glides across the pitch not with as much elegance as king but similar.

I didn't see the West Ham game properly as I was working so was in and out of the stadium so I'm not too sure how he compared to big Andy but seeing the highlights we should of won 6-0 we never looked troubled until the sending off.

Having the 2 best CBs in the league next to him will be a big boost, he's looked really impressive so far
