It was a awful example.
Being a business do you think Kane is worth more go spurs on and off the pitch than cashing in on him in 1 chunk ( although payments would be spread over many many years )
Moving into a new stadium trying to tie up very lucrative sponsorship deals would selling your prize asset help or hinder this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure it was an awful example although incorrect I admit. You've obviously decided to ignore the other examples provided as they don't fit your agenda
In response to selling Kane being bad business due to impacting sponsorship deals. That's a fair point. However, as you are moving into a new stadium I would have expected the majority of your sponsorship to have already been agreed as you would have needed the money to fund the stadium costs.
If you haven't already agreed a stadium name then obviously this is one deal that could be effected. However, as Kane is only legally owned by Spurs for the duration of his contract I'm sure there are various clauses in place with sponsors which would come into play were your assets to be sold. Similarly I'd expect Spurs to have negotiated higher rates on every year the club meets certain targets such as CL qualification and trophies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the answer is yes it would be bad for business

This aint a dig just my view as an outsider looking in...
I totally understand from a fan's perspective why few of you would agree to sell Kane for £200m or indeed any price. However, whether you like it or not pro football is as much about business as it is about sport.
Things like new stadiums, new players, training facilities, staff etc all has to get paid for. Bearing that in mind it is entirely plausible for your owners to sell their most valuable asset if doing so is deemed as good business. Barca are more successful and richer than Spurs and if anything have an even more passionate fanbase and yet sold Neymar as it was considered an offer they couldn't refuse. Monaco did the same with Mbappe as did Man U when they sold Tevez and Ronaldo.
Spurs don't forget have a history (like my club Arsenal) of selling big players when they are offered more than the market value for players (Bale, Berbatov and Modric spring to mind).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You’re certainly right it was a offer they couldn’t refuse it was a release clause
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok fair enough perhaps Neymar was a bad example but that doesn't answer the other points I raised about sport being a business like any other. Unless Spurs go on and win the Prem and then compete for the CL how can the club justify holding on to an asset that could pay off a chunk of it's debts in on go? By the way, looking at it rationally Spurs are in a great position as selling Kane would actually set the club up long-term unlike Arsenal who took almost a decade to get their finances on an even keel.

Mate you are being an idiot here.
Cash talks, if a team submits an offer they can't refuse then they wont refuse it.
If Liverpool got offered £100m+ for Coutinho they would take it, if Southampton got offered +£70m for VVD they would take it. Money talks and club don't refuse money.
