Jones
Shaw WTF He's not even the best LB at united FFS
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Goes to show how poor your players are if they won't even make the combined XI
Pogba
Is he there just for the shirt sales?

would maybe swap coutinho for fellaini
----------------------------------------------------------------------
lol you certainly wouldn't confuse one for the other. Bet you wish Barca would offer 150 million euro for Fellaini?
We can all get together, this time tomorrow, recall this article, after United get beaten tomorrow, and have a good laugh about it.
See you tomorrow, same time same place hopefully.
Shaw being in the team makes the whole thing null and void.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
of course not
De Gea
Clyne
Bailly
Matip
Shaw (Robertson if he continues his progress)
Mane
Matic
Pogba
Coutinho
Lukaku
Firmino
Left backs are a weak area for both teams
I voted and had 9 of those listed, it seemed others voted for Mane and Coutinho

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dumb pick.
Mane and Coutinho would be the only no brainers to get in our team. Salah would be close but we have similar players to him really.
None of their back 5 convince me, not even Matip who seems to have this amazing reputation based on what exactly?
Midfield they have some decent players but nobody outstanding bar Coutinho.
Firmino and Sturridge wouldnt even get on our bench if we had Zlatan fit.
They will probably beat us now though. Football doesn't work like that.
I wouldn't have Shaw in my best Utd team either.
I don't really disagree considering recent form, but a lot of those players aren't really ones to jealous of or want to swap for.
Jones, Shaw and Valencia? No, I'd rather take my chances in the market to be honest. Matic hasn't been the same for years. I like the potential of Rashford but he's hardly a world beater at this point. I'd rather start Firmino at this point in time.
But, even if you get it to 8-3 or 7-4 in favour of United, it's still well in their favour.
But let's be honest, this isn't a debate about Gerrard v Scholes and there are no Ronaldo's, Suarez's, Torres or Giggs in either side. It's quite an ugly XI.
Can just see GB bombarding the BBC complaints dept with emails full of words like "Studge, Couts, Firms and Lalls" right now

Gerrard vs Scholes
There is no debate there
Shaw has played 114 club games in his career.
Bertrand has played 114 games for Southampton since replacing Shaw in 2014.
Bertrand isn't on the list

Lauvren and Hardip
This is all shaping up nicely for when Liverpool give United a thrashing and the title celebrations stop as everyone realises that they've played all the crap teams so far and the season is about to fall apart when they play a good team.
The only ones who claim United have won the title are Liverpool fans and the red tops in August. Sadly, Liverpool fans are still on about it while the media have moved onto City. Always in the past, Liverpool.

BBC have done this for the past few games at Anfield. I remember a couple of years and the combined team was almost the complete opposite. Liverpool were bang in form at the time.
I think Souness did one for Sky and had just DDG and the rest Liverpool players. Quite often these teams are just selected on current form.
Although that BBC team wouldn't be far off in terms of players actual ability, not just current form. Obviously Shaw wouldn't be in there, but just goes to show the lack of quality from either side in that position.
