Don’t have to deal with vague requests from irritating customers in a dist centre though.

The Union point is an important one IMO πŸ‘

ECJ rules in favour of Tesco store staff in equal pay claim
Europe’s top court decides it is valid to compare value of supermarket and distribution centre work

ffs what a dumb ruling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A UK tribunal deemed their work to be of equal value, and sought clarification from the ECJ, who agreed.

The women who were working in Tesco shop floors were being paid £3 an hour less than male counterparts who worked in distribution centres.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Make the women work in the distribution centres on a rota then they will understand
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Understand what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why distribution centres have higher pay
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe they already have and thats why they drew an equivalence?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a discussion on this subject recently and a lot of it came down to the distribution centres were heavily unionised where the shop floor staff were not.

There was also a lack of understanding about how the distribution centres work, these are not the areas behind the shop floor these are central hubs that have to run to extremely tight time restraints and have various deadlines to meet throughout the day. The role is more demanding as any delays can cause problems to the chain.

I am not certain that working in distribution centre where you are responsible for moving produce worth vast sums of money is comparable to stacking shelves.

Though both roles are obviously necessary for the business to run.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would agree with this tbh. Plus the hours worked in dist centres will most likely involved unsociable hours more often than in store.

not sure unsociable hours as a lot of stores are now also 24 hours
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They abandoned 24 hrs up here long before COVID
At night there’s shelf stackers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And shoplifters.

I mean, shopfitters

I see it as a victory against the woke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s more simple
Labour are $hite
They hid on Brexit
They have been the most ineffective opposition when it was May and Bozo
That deserves no votes
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shocking failure to present a decent opposition on pretty much all fronts at a time when it should be pretty straightforward to get at least a couple of easy wins.

Also true.

Also they are woke muppets who will destroy the social fabric of this country.

I’m intrigued; what policies do people want Labour to have that they don’t have?

I think NPE might be against Labours policy of ‘destroying the social fabric of the country’. I can’t be sure though.
