TBAB - get big Van Mo as first minister

Did you see the Robin Swann video from Europa?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paisley, Sammy, Poots LMAO they are the Marx brothers, without the wit and humour, mate.

Junior apologized for his Dangerous Swann chant, at least, but what a bunch of balloons they are....Van too, is a grumpy old git who thinks covid is a hoax, haha.

Hope Beattie and co replace dup again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

RobinSwannisDangerous was trending on Twitter over the weekend <Loads of Chuck Norris esq offerings.

"There was no such thing as giraffes until Robin Swann once uppercut a horse"

If there's an election (as a result of the current shenanigans) I can see the UUP doing much better under Beattie.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor wee Robin...you could see him on a Shetland pony in a country n western vid.

PM breaking the ministerial code again and disrespecting our parliament

Wonder what the Speaker will do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I caught the tale end of Hoyle going to town on the government for "misleading parliament." Was clearly enraged. But wasn't sure of the specifics.

Not sure what "other avenues" there are

It's all built on convention and this cabinet have shown they have no regard for it and Thier base don't care yet either
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it will be nothing but words no one will hold Bojo to account, I mean obviously if he again has broken the ministerial code he should step down and no person from either side can possibly argue that point.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What has he broken? As in the comments in the first link - the govt should. Should. Not obligated. And yes, Bojo is a tw@t and will squirm his way out of any situation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bojo is!

Fancy your chances against Scotland on Friday?

Having seen both teams play, 2-0 England.

Good euros thus far.

well with the FPTP system these extremely undemocratic situations will continue
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Except, Blair got in this way too, lol...and UKIP would have been massive based on their four million plus vote a while back.

I think the UK voter, especially in England is centrist, centre right, so opts for any Tory, and often Labour do themselves no favours with leaders, so the voting system may not be the only reason Tories are in power so much.

And this is why many Scots want Indy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never said that he never, he obviously had to as it is the system we use in the UK. So pointing that out is completely pointless

I said FPTP is extremely undemocratic, my main motivation for independence is the lack of actual democracy in the UK. If Scotland used FPTP the SNP would have had endless massive majorities and it is not representative.

Getting around 40% of the votes cast and well under a third of the total electorates support should in no way return a party a 80 seat majority.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough, although PR- STV etc can lead to lots of smaller parties and weak coalition govts.

Israel now is an example of a coalition of chaos, lol.

GB news Wooton guy, said Indian variant got into Oz with their hard border lockdown?

We should have closed borders to China, EU and America last March, imo.

Indeed.

Pragmatism is all that’s called for.

None from the EU. Not even a hint. Just pull down the shutters and squeak “the rules, the rules. You signed them”.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry what now. Why should the EU be pragmatic about anything? Out government have lied and obfuscated for 4 years now. They’ve made agreements then refused to adhere to them. They’ve been proven to have broken laws along the way.

This is all out doing. We made out bed, it’s time to lie in it. Simple as that. This is what you voted for, take responsibility.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Away and sheite into your own hands and give yourself a round of applause ffs

Nobody voted to have the EU piiisss all over us and deliberately obstruct fair and honest trade within a country in a childish attempt to sabotage transfer of goods and foodstuffs.

Christ almighty; I know you and others didn’t get the vote you wanted but to revel in everything that is seen to go wrong or wasn’t planned for is utterly pathetic.

Time to grow the fwck up and realise that it doesn’t work for the simple reasons that the EU (particularly France) will do everything it can to punish us and treat us like some third world country importing and exporting dodgy goods with punitive inspections that have zero relevance to risk.

Yet when it was the other way round I’ll wager you were squealing away when the EU went to invoke the article.

Amazing. Imagine wanting harm for citizens or part of the U.K. to try and prove a point. Well done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ginger the protocol is what we proposed to solve the issue.

the EU did not impose this scenario the government offered up NI.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As stated before, Boris did lie to unionists and all of NI, then signed off on a deal in late 2019 to get brexit done so he could beat Corbyn Labour, and the EU could not believe their luck with Boris rushing through the so called NIP arrangement.

Now, with NI business and all shades of unionism against the Boris sea border, bojo blows the other way with the wind, as Zach correctly observed...just as the PM almost went for remain, then was swayed to go leave on the eve of referendum.

Nobody comes out of this with much honour, as the EU and Dublin use NI or back the Irish nationalist side, then pretend they are all about the GFA, lol.

Tories lied, dup were duped and SF Irish republicans got their way with no border checks that would offend their identity, by threatening ra violence.

Someone in NI had to lose out and it was the unionist loyalist side, many of whom backed remain, but were shafted by boris and ignored by the EU and Dublin.

As Wwspd said, tension in NI will rise during the summer, and EU leaders saying NI is not even part of the UK is not helpful.

And for the umpteenth time, if the NIP arrangement Boris and the EU cobbled together creates business and food problems for NI, to say suck it up or you deserve is pathetic, vengeful and morally bankrupt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The NIP was proposed by the UK as the solution to the issue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I have said several times, Boris signed off on this to get elected PM and his brexit done, after lying to NI unionists and duping dup.

So, guys who dislike everything bojo, back his NIP?

Interesting.

Myth, haha.....these EU fanboys are strange.

The German foreign minister literally floats the plan to scrap a veto against an agreed EU foreign policy, and there is an EU army.

EEC concept was economic cooperation, not an expansionist super state marching East, with a foreign policy, immigration dictat, army, flag and anthem.
-------
How do you know an EU army would be marching East?

Aren't you scaremongering?

What's wrong with the EU having an army?

Remember that China can raise an army with millions and millions of soldiers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The origins of the EEC was not to create a super state, army, foreign policy.

It was about trade and cooperation, not an expansionist capitalist super state, was it now?

“ There are elements seeking an EU superstate, EU foreign policy, army etc.”

Still peddling this Farage led myth
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Except it’s not a myth is it?

All these things have been discussed within the EU and it would be simply ignoring the fact to state otherwise.

And latest of course is getting rid of the veto. But that’ll be a myth too of course.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------------------------
you see in order for it to happen they’d need to get every member state to agree to it. Now if losing the veto is not in any countries interest then it won’t be voted through.

However if the democratically debated it and then agreed to remove it there’d be no issue either as they all agreed to something.

Is it that foreign a concept for you to understand?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Brussels banter patter, lol.

“ Jan. 22, Twitter:

Jan. 29, Remarks at signing ceremony for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement:

“And, honestly, I think, as tough as this negotiation was, I think our relationship with China now might be the best it's been in a long, long time. And now it's reciprocal. Before, we were being ripped off badly. Now we have a reciprocal relationship, maybe even better than reciprocal for us.”

Jan. 30, Fox News interview:

"China is not in great shape right now, unfortunately. But they're working very hard. We'll see what happens. But we're working very closely with China and other countries."

Feb. 7, Remarks at North Carolina Opportunity Now Summit in Charlotte, N.C.:

"I just spoke to President Xi last night, and, you know, we're working on the — the problem, the virus. It's a — it's a very tough situation. But I think he's going to handle it. I think he's handled it really well. We're helping wherever we can."

Feb. 7, Twitter:

“ Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days … Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!

Feb. 7, Remarks before Marine One departure:

"Late last night, I had a very good talk with President Xi, and we talked about — mostly about the coronavirus. They're working really hard, and I think they are doing a very professional job. They're in touch with World — the World — World Organization. CDC also. We're working together. But World Health is working with them. CDC is working with them. I had a great conversation last night with with President Xi. It's a tough situation. I think they're doing a very good job.”

Feb. 10, Fox Business interview:

"I think China is very, you know, professionally run in the sense that they have everything under control," Trump said. "I really believe they are going to have it under control fairly soon. You know in April, supposedly, it dies with the hotter weather. And that's a beautiful date to look forward to. But China I can tell you is working very hard."

Feb. 10, campaign rally in Manchester, N.H.:

“I spoke with President Xi, and they’re working very, very hard. And I think it’s all going to work out fine.”

Feb. 13, Fox News interview:

“I think they've handled it professionally and I think they're extremely capable and I think President Xi is extremely capable and I hope that it's going to be resolved."

Feb. 18, remarks before Air Force One departure:

“I think President Xi is working very hard. As you know, I spoke with him recently. He’s working really hard. It’s a tough problem. I think he’s going to do — look, I’ve seen them build hospitals in a short period of time. I really believe he wants to get that done, and he wants to get it done fast. Yes, I think he’s doing it very professionally.”

Feb. 23, remarks before Marine One departure:

"I think President Xi is working very, very hard. I spoke to him. He's working very hard. I think he's doing a very good job. It's a big problem. But President Xi loves his country. He's working very hard to solve the problem, and he will solve the problem. OK?"

Feb. 26, remarks at a business roundtable in New Delhi, India:

“China is working very, very hard. I have spoken to President Xi, and they’re working very hard. And if you know anything about him, I think he’ll be in pretty good shape. They’re — they’ve had a rough patch, and I think right now they have it — it looks like they’re getting it under control more and more. They’re getting it more and more under control.”

Feb. 27, Coronavirus Task Force press conference:

“I spoke with President Xi. We had a great talk. He’s working very hard, I have to say. He’s working very, very hard. And if you can count on the reports coming out of China, that spread has gone down quite a bit. The infection seems to have gone down over the last two days. As opposed to getting larger, it’s actually gotten smaller.”

Feb. 29, Coronavirus Task Force press conference:

“China seems to be making tremendous progress. Their numbers are way down. … I think our relationship with China is very good. We just did a big trade deal. We’re starting on another trade deal with China — a very big one. And we’ve been working very closely. They’ve been talking to our people, we’ve been talking to their people, having to do with the virus.”

Or maybe TBAB is comparing Biden’s comments to stuff like this;

“We can't continue to allow China to rape our country, and that's what they're doing. It's the greatest theft in the history of the world," he told a rally during his presidential campaign. In 2011, Trump claimed "China is raping this country" during a tour of a defense manufacturer in New Hampshire, local media reported

“ "He then went into the history of China and Korea. Not North Korea, Korea. And you know, you’re talking about thousands of years ... and many wars. And Korea actually used to be a part of China," Trump told the Wall Street Journal in April after meeting China's Xi Jinping. The remark prompted concern in South Korea, prompting China's foreign ministry to say: "There is nothing ... to worry about."

“ Just take them to McDonald's'
For Trump, fast food might be enough. "I beat the people from China. I win against China. You can win against China if you're smart. But our people don't have a clue. We give state dinners to the heads of China. I said, 'why are you doing state dinners for them? They're ripping us left and right. Just take them to McDonald's and go back to the negotiating table,'" Trump said at a 2015 rally

Trump has often taken to his preferred social media platform to declare foreign policy objectives and decry his apparent foes. In 2012, he tackled the subject of climate change by accusing Beijing of fabricating the idea to hurt US economic interests. "The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive," Trump said”

Yep we should react in the same way because Biden and Trumps comments are comparable
