The good thing about this, is that it should drive further adoption of electricification and renewables.
Would be nice to see the gov roll out renewable heat incentive to properties with ballooning gas costs, as well as bringing back other incentives such as for solar panels.
TBF Insert (like with the poor paralyzed woman and her family) anyone catastrophically affected in the short term isn't exactly going to care about potential long term benefits for the planet as a whole

It got massive coverage here in Scotland and has continued to do so. I can’t speak for how much coverage it got in the UK wide news, I don’t remember it having much though.
I also seem to remember Anas Sarwars dad (of Pakistani heritage like the killers but unlike the killers was actually born there. AFAIK the killers were Scottish and England born) being very vocal on it in terms of having them brought to justice.

I reckon most of us never heard of Kriss Donald and how he, as a 15 yr old white schoolboy, was targetted for his race, by pakistani men, who abducted, tortured and set him on fire, for being white and in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It was a racist murder and was on the news again becaise his killer was out walking about, wearing a T-shirt with a gun on it, while parents of the 15 yr old will never see their boy.
I am sure it was covered in local and national news and thst was not my actual point, but rather how hoorific it was, how racist ot was, how white people suffer racism too and how the culprits are let out of prison after this sick racist murder.

It appears to be perhaps a flaw in the London centric reporting of “the regions”, per what JS shared above.
I remember bringing up Sheku Bayoh on this thread and no one outside of hec and Ivan had ever heard of him and his case. You certainly hadn’t.

That would be an ecumenical matter.
Listened to a black female presenter speak about the release today, and she wondered if this was a white racist gang, or the Stephen Lawrence racist killers, would the guys be let out of jail?
She also went into the detail i gave about the case, as i did not know the the background or how evil the case was.
15 yr old white boy picked off street at random, driven about in a car for 200 miles as they tried to find a place to torture and kill him, knifing him 13 times, setting him on fire, watching him die.
For being white.
Then, they get to walk about on prison release???
Looks like this day release (which isn't a specific benefit for them only) was in lieu of their father's funeral which they couldnt attend for safety reasons

It got massive coverage here in Scotland and has continued to do so. I can’t speak for how much coverage it got in the UK wide news, I don’t remember it having much though.
I also seem to remember Anas Sarwars dad (of Pakistani heritage like the killers but unlike the killers was actually born there. AFAIK the killers were Scottish and England born) being very vocal on it in terms of having them brought to justice.

I reckon most of us never heard of Kriss Donald and how he, as a 15 yr old white schoolboy, was targetted for his race, by pakistani men, who abducted, tortured and set him on fire, for being white and in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It was a racist murder and was on the news again becaise his killer was out walking about, wearing a T-shirt with a gun on it, while parents of the 15 yr old will never see their boy.
I am sure it was covered in local and national news and thst was not my actual point, but rather how hoorific it was, how racist ot was, how white people suffer racism too and how the culprits are let out of prison after this sick racist murder.

It appears to be perhaps a flaw in the London centric reporting of “the regions”, per what JS shared above.
I remember bringing up Sheku Bayoh on this thread and no one outside of hec and Ivan had ever heard of him and his case. You certainly hadn’t.
No one here as far as I am aware has ever said that racist attacks on people who are white do not happen.

That would be an ecumenical matter.
Listened to a black female presenter speak about the release today, and she wondered if this was a white racist gang, or the Stephen Lawrence racist killers, would the guys be let out of jail?
She also went into the detail i gave about the case, as i did not know the the background or how evil the case was.
15 yr old white boy picked off street at random, driven about in a car for 200 miles as they tried to find a place to torture and kill him, knifing him 13 times, setting him on fire, watching him die.
For being white.
Then, they get to walk about on prison release???

Looks like this day release (which isn't a specific benefit for them only) was in lieu of their father's funeral which they couldnt attend for safety reasons
