Well the laughing at deaths thing wasn't civil it was a cheap stunt when I was obviously laughing at the disgraceful inaccuracy of the predictions. Other than that it's fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I sometimes despair of humanity and a few posters here, with their 24/7 political obsession-bias and hypocrisy, claiming you laugh at people dying, in a civil manner, ffs, lol.

Then, when you point out what they do, toys out the pram, they cry and tell you to fsck off, and then claim political and moral high ground, hahaha.

But mandatory jabs.

Good for them tbh

I'm not really one for taking away people's freedoms, but exceptional circumstances globally.

Not like I was being abusive and calling you a can't was it?

It's pointing out that it's probably not the most appropriate subject for laughing smileys

Hmmmm?

interesting thread, this winter could be pretty horrific
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whoever that person is, they are an idiot alarmist.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
by pointing out figures?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Figures? Lol don’t make me laugh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ferguson in England and Robert Swann here in Ulster had us all down as deid last year, ffs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We should be on 7,000 hospital admissions per day for England only according to these people.
Reality: 600 admissions per day, we don't even have 7000 people total in hospital.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
972 reorted dead this week, I'm glad you find at all amusing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why imply TT is laughing at the dead, when he is pointing out certain people are predicting deaths on a massive scale from last March, and getting it so wrong?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
deaths have been on a massive scale regardless of predictions. Nice that you minimise around 1000 deaths this week and around 140k in the past 18 months.

what number is considered "mass" to you

I did not minimize deaths during covid or this week, so stop playing silly games and seeking arguments.

Robert Swann 19.3.20 said the covid surge coming last March was of biblical proportions and 14,000 could die, and numbers way beyond that were bandied about for last Spring alone.

This is not to minimize figures then and to date who died, but grossly over estimating death predictions is scaremongering too, and dangerous, as people locked themselves away, lost touch with others, abused drink and drugs, lost out on work, missed education and diagnosis for other illness, so those forecasting future covid deaths need to be careful, imo.

14,000 *could* die.

Not *will*

posted on 16/10/21

I was for lockdown last year, but Swann and others had us believe 20 times more folk at least were going to die.

I get the need to warn or scare us into behaving, but we can also question such poor guesstimates....that closed down life and society.

Maybe not....believe and like what you like.lol

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could have said will die, if we did not lockdown...could have said 140k will or could die, as he was guessing.

And getting it wrong....then we rinse repeat.

Swann has a tough job and gets death threats from irish republicans and loons, which is topical, but i like this wee unionist leader.

Like others, he estimated and got it badly wrong, so if we allow people to guess how many will or could die this winter again, and some forecast wildly, do we all lockdown and stay home again?

And not question them?

Ok

19 months in, people still wilfully ignorant on the nature of ranges of predictions. For those interested currently tracking between the range of deaths the Warwick model predicted back in June/July.

I also recall sat nav and me both thinking that from end June through to next June we’d only be expecting to see 5-10k. We’re past that already since then.

Tories wanted to place someone safer in there, hence the offer of this UN gig.

so breaking covid rules is grounds for dismissal right?

Broke the rules at Christmas? Despite politicians being held to higher standards than the average Joe, I’m not normally fussed if one of them (maybe even the PM) makes or made a minor rule break. But Christmas was a big deal as it is for a lot of families and we had the last minute change so to break the rules at that time is unforgivable. Sacking? I don’t know but I wouldn’t cry if he was for this as I think the timing of the rule break is pretty disgusting and really takes the pss

I’m sure some of you here will now say ‘THIS you care about? What about x, y and z?!’

Just be happy I’m in agreement 😂
