Zero covid is impossible if we're not going to vaccinate the whole world but 200 deaths a day and rising exponentially while doing nothing to arrest that rise is clearly insane and track record says a lockdown that comes too late is too Draconian and goes on too long as a result
Living with covid means mitigating or transferring the risk not just ignoring it and hoping it goes away... Because it doesn't
Sometimes these spikes do just plateau and eventually dip though 🤞
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure our Government were well aware that "living with the virus" would just lead to large numbers ignoring it altogether. Throughout this pandemic it's been shown that people need to be treated like children. Lifting all regulations only enables these guys. Even keeping the masks would have served as a reminder, in addition to aiding reducing the spread.
Boris is the child imo
They've politicised a facking pandemic, turned people against teachers and doctors as part.of their childish justification for their own corruption and negligence
Half my tube carriage each morning and evening is people not wearing masks and fack those people but it wouldn't be happening with a mask mandate and treating people like adults

He literally isn't a war criminal but some people think that way and throw everything the last labour government achieved out the window as a result
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m not arguing that it’s not silly to make the argument about Blair’s tenure all about the war, and that it should somehow invalidate all else achieved under his leadership, I’m just stating a fact:
The UK’s invasion of Iraq for the purpose of regime change was not in conformity with the UN charter, and was illegal under international law.
There were no existing Security Council resolutions pre-authorising their intervention, which Blair and Bush both knew, and they went ahead and acted anyway without a new resolution.
They were both told at the time via solicited legal advice that doing so would be illegal, the UN S-G at the time said that the UN’s view was that it was illegal, other SC members agreed.
Bloody hell, half of Blair’s cabinet members and his very deputy have said it was illegal.
It might come down to semantics and I get what you're saying but "Blair is a war criminal" sounds studenty and doesn't actually solve anything to stop something like that happening.again
A war criminal isn't a PM who successfully puts foreign intervention through parliament, some parts of UN edicts were met and some weren't but ultimately the UK wasn't at risk from Iraq and we weren't intervening on behalf of anyone else so their was dubious legality to going there
Further muddied by war crimes committed by coalition troops and eventually regime change being the only actual result

Quite (!)
Self interest coming first for the Tories. After eleven years of it the public will have had enough.
Ignoring the second point I see chaps.
Yeah we’re not reliant on FS as a country so rolling back a tax slightly that the Conservatives themselves introduced in 2023 and you’re all outraged
Get real guys
It's all to keep the City competitive after brexit

Forgetting that the workers have just been hit with a tax hike
AFAIK all banks in the UK managed to pay dividends within the last 18 months despite the massive financial implications of the pandemic. This proposed tax cut feels unnecessary.
