There’s no way there will be an early election.
Boris stays for now and is eventually inevitably replaced before the GE, or we get a new Tory govt which might look a little (but I suspect not very, policy-wise at least) different.
The Tory majority is and will remain too large to threaten an election.

I think whoever comes in next will have to clean house, Winston Wolf-style. The Number Ten machinery will need completely dismantling, a lot of paper and phones will need to disappear (with firewalls in place to protect plausible deniability), and a new culture will need to be nurtured.
Donors will not be at all happy with the current operation, which has exposed some of them and colleagues/friends in their networks, jeopardised their future influence, and associated them with a demonstrably corrupt and incompetent regime. It has been a lucrative time for many of them, but not the kind of inconspicuous profitability they’re used to.

One heck of a tent mate.
I don't know what's funnier, the idea that Boris didn't know his party was against the rules
Or the fact that someone had indeed told him it was and he did it anyway π€
One area where I do believe Boris is he might actually have not recognised his work-event was against rules, because the guy is so sloppy and lazy I am unsure he even knows what he is saying half the time.
I think he knew it wasn't a work event NPE.
Otherwise I agree with the sloppy lazy vacant stupidity.

Come on now, everyone knows we're not allowed to say such things about this man until Sue Gray speaks...
How long until we have a statement from Boris denying any knowledge of the threats made to potential rebels about withdrawal of funding to constituency offices?
Shortly before a WhatsApp leak emerges demonstrating he ordered the whips to make the threats
Haha, speak of the devil: Number Ten has just said that there is “no evidence” to support the blackmail claims

BREAKING: Con MP William Wragg accuses No10 of intimidation & breaching ministerial code by threatening to withdraw money from constituencies/leak stories abt rebels. Urges them to go to Police/Parly authorities
"The reports of which I'm aware would seem to constitute blackmail”
Disgraceful
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It just keeps getting worse.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Worse? Or better?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can a GE be called early?
Even if bojo goes, govt could be here for couple more years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s no way there will be an early election.
Boris stays for now and is eventually inevitably replaced before the GE, or we get a new Tory govt which might look a little (but I suspect not very, policy-wise at least) different.
The Tory majority is and will remain too large to threaten an election.

I like the idea of moving away, and I'm increasingly tempted to just go.

I understand Sue Gray has found the email from a senior official to PM’s principle private secretary Martin Reynolds warning him the 20 May party should not go ahead, as per Cummings’s revelation and my blog below. So huge…

Oh this is just delicious
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now accusations of blackmail and intimidation from #10.

Apologies, missed earlier posts
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Howdy partner.
Did uno NI lass Sue Gray ran a pub in Newry, Co Down, serving pints and creating a cross community bar in the town...not your usual civil service high flier?
And bury Tory defector was vigorous on social media, posting against Starmer and Labor on Brexit from2019 onwards, whilst voting for the withdrawal of the twenty quid UC payment etc?
Like all of us, I get bury boy on liar and clown π€‘ partygate Boris, but switching political ideogu and party so quickly???...hey ho, we all change our minds π
Those who defect from any party, rarely get elected next time round, as voters are funny that way.

Every day's a school day TBAB!!
Think she's under intense pressure, as her findings (in particular how specific they are) will determine her bosses' future.
I'd rather be pulling pints of Guinness in Newry!

We're living in the satire timeline
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are part of a vast experiment to see who cracks up first, and if you do not lose it, you ain't paying attention.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty I've cracked, I don't even realy give a feck about the parties just the lies.
Billions passed to friends no one cares
150k plus dead and the tories were throwing their masks in the air today like they'd won something?
Endless brexit lies
endless lies
endless incompetence
I'm definitely tidying up a few qualificiations in the second half of the year and fecking out of this country as soon as I do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My missus has been sounding me out about heading to Germany. I'm game, this place is getting too mad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I spent 6 years in Germany, loved it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spent 6 days in a tent in Munich at Octoberfest, with 5k Rangers nutters, loved it.π

One heck of a tent mate.

I don't know what's funnier, the idea that Boris didn't know his party was against the rules
Or the fact that someone had indeed told him it was and he did it anyway π€

One area where I do believe Boris is he might actually have not recognised his work-event was against rules, because the guy is so sloppy and lazy I am unsure he even knows what he is saying half the time.
posted on 20/1/22
I think he knew it wasn't a work event NPE.
