Henry Hill, Deputy Editor of Conservative Home, now on Sky News saying the sooner Boris goes, the better for the Tories.

He’s a dead duck.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He should be but it will take a GE to get rid of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tories won't let him have another GE
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ll take it this is just your opinion and not a fact?

All I’m saying is I wouldn’t be so sure.

The thing is Boris would still win the next election so I don’t see why they’d get rid of him

No chance whatsoever Johnson will lead the Tories into the next GE.

The MET investigation is going to overshadow the party (pardon the pun) for the foreseeable future. Which will be exploited by opponents (both within and outside the party).

All whilst the Tories poll ratings continue to tank. Tory MP's (to save themselves if nothing else) will oust him. Also believe Johnson withheld the police investigation announcement from his own cabinet, which has gone down like a fart in a space suit.

He's toast.

Plus all of these parties have worked out brilliant, as I think it guaranteed they’d get rid of pretty much all the restrictions last week and they’ll have a very tough job imposing any more restrictions going forward

I think Boris will survive purely because sometimes it’s better the devil you know then the devil you don’t and he’s still very likeable. He’s a complete douche but then again what politician isn’t, and I’d rather have had Boris than Sturgeon, Drakeford or anyone from the Labour Party. I don’t disagree with his comments last week that we’d likely still be in lockdown if we had them and we’d definitely have gone in one over Christmas

GE is too far away for the Tories to care about.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are by-elections in May this year.

Johnson's approval ratings were at an all time low last week, (73% of those polled felt he was doing badly) before today's announcement by the MET.

IMO he'll be gone before May.

Once Russia invades Ukraine I’m sure all this Boris talk will go away and he’ll live to fight another day. He’s probably secretly praying Putin makes the move asap.

I think starmer is a very poor politician and genuinely believe rayner would do a better job.

100% agree she has so much more charisma and passion. I just find Starmer is too much of a wet cabbage

Still don’t understand how a multi millionaire ex lawyer who is a Sir can really expect to appeal to the so called working party

She's also a little bit hot

True

Albeit I would have my doubts about how she’d perform on the world stage seems a bit soft/inexperienced/young might get chewed up on world deals etc.

Any cabinet that doesn’t involve that wannabe towie guy wes streeting would be better than the current cabinet Boris has

I’ll never understand the Tory love in for Sunak either. Really can’t even envisage him as a PM, too much of a quiet numbers type guy that goes well in the background but not on the front line

Wonder if any of the lesser known MPs will fancy a chance.... Mordaunt or Shapps maybe
