NEW: The #COVID19 pandemic killed 13.3 to 16.6 million people in 2020 and 2021, the WHO has estimated -- up to triple the number of deaths officially attributed to the disease
Second worst pandemic death toll after Spanish flu lads?
But how many of those died with Covid?
Feel someone needs to ask that question now the Covid sceptics have fled.
EXCLUSIVE: At least 75 of London’s most powerful local councillors are also working for the property and development industry.

Not where I live where many see the Labour Council as bad as the Tory Government.
It's been a pretty low turnout, so imagine it's likely mostly the diehard partisan voters who turned up.

It's more to do with the introduction of a Clear Air Zone that will fine van and taxi drivers who can't afford to buy an electric vehicle.

Reduction of pollution is a real negative.
It’s hilarious seeing what’s happening to Madison Cawthorne. For years he’s been a horrific Republican hypocrite and now slowly but surely being dismantled by the very machine he helped build.
He can’t pray away the gay this time.

The way it's being implimented is.
If you have a BMW X5 or even a Hummer then it's no charge. Own a campervan or rely on a van or a taxi to earn a living then it could be £3k a year you have to stump up.

CAZ are pretty normalised right now, if you start punishing private car ownership you will kill shops etc.. as well as adding to the tax burden,
It's worked fairly well so far in Bath, has hit Royal Mail fairly hard, but they are looking at electrification of their Bath fleet now very seriously!
Average night for Labour so far but they’ve gained Wandsworth and Barnet.
Westminster as well now, not bad.
Lib Dem’s have done very well so far though, I voted for them last night too.
Not as bad as feared for Tories, not as good as expected for Labour, brilliant for Lib Dems
Unsurprising overall summary really, public angry at tories, fed up of Labour and looking for something new (lib Dems / greens)
Reinforces the notion that Starmer has absolutely zero chance of winning an election too. Needs to go
The local elections are such red herrings with it comes to GE's.
Today we will have to tolerate Ed Davey and Layla Moran telling us how they are on the march to power and then at the next proper vote they'll get 10 seats.
Remember Jo Swinson telling us she could win the whole thing a couple of weeks before she lost her seat.
Labour should have done a lot better
I think the real story is the voter apathy. Low turnouts across the country.
Wales, NI and Scotland have yet to start counting. We won’t know a broad picture of the results until we are in bed tonight tb
Even with the low turnouts, the Tories have over 100 Council seats with still half the seats to be counted. Ita not really the victory they are trying to claim.
