Lib Dem’s have a big opportunity to exploit / gain big ground but their advertising or exposure or media team sucks, I couldn’t even tell you with 100% certainty who the leader is, I’d say Jo Swindon but I wouldn’t put my house on it
Actually Just googled it and it’s actually not even Jo Swinson anymore lol

Labour have conceded defeat, result should be out in a bit
If you haven't watched The Dissident yet, you should.
Hartlepool, parliamentary by-election result:
Con: 51.9% (+23.0)
Lab: 28.7% (-9.0)
Ind: 9.7% (+7.5)
Ref: 1.2% (-24.6)
Grn: 1.2% (+1.2)
LDem: 1.2% (-3.0)
Oth: 6.1% (+4.9)
Con GAIN from Lab.
That is utter grim
That poll where the Tories were 17 points ahead was even worse than predicted
Tory majority of 6,940 in Hartlepool, the 10th most deprived town in England
shows how labour have lost alot of the working class vote up north, they once took for granted

Does look like brexit fallout for the jump in conservative share. Don’t know who the Indy candidate was; did they peel away Labour voters?

Labour needs to seriously rethink its strategy now, they can’t do it alone. They have to form some sort of partnership with the other parties if we don’t get PR implemented anytime soon.

Ah it could all be a cunning plan. Lure the tories into thinking they’d still have their majority on PR so they support more democratic voting regimes, then boom; bouncebackability turned all the way up to 11!
Conservative Hartlepool.
What is the disconnect between modern Labour and the people it was set up to represent?
That or the elephant in the room.
Not just the curtains.

It’s the stupidest decision Corbyn made in 2019, along with that stupid bint Swinson for not putting their arguments aside and forming some sort of coalition like the Tories did with the BXP.
The Libs voting share went up quite considerably in the last GE, if they stood down where Labour lost seats who knows if the Tories would’ve got the 80 majority.

Looking at the vote changes in reform and the tories, I think it’s fair to say brexit was indeed a factor. I don’t know what someone who isn’t even a member of the PLP has to do with it though.

Haha...Baldrickesque.
Or, Labour could go for a guy such as Andy Burnham for the working class vote.
Starmer is ok in London, but London would now elect a donkey with a red rosette.
Reality is mate, there are now two Labour or working class groups in England, one northern, east coast etc and more populist ....and another London centred and remain, with many other spectrums of course, but there is a big difference now in what used to be a more homogenous Labour bloc
What to do when your up against an electorate living in a Rule Britannia fantasy land? It is what it is, not my choice, still fkn tragic to witness the race to the bottom.
First woman to represent Hartlepool, and it took a Tory to break through?
Perhaps, Labour need to look at themselves, root n branch.
Just sayin.

No blame to Labour at all then? It’s the electorate’s fault, it’s the Conservatives’ fault.
