But if these waaankers running this country didn’t wait about 10 days after the outbreak to close the borders to India instead of doing it straight away then who knows if we would have been worrying about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We haven’t seen any real increase in cases though
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe not at an overall level but if you’re tracking the prevalence of different variants and you see one growing that is important. For clarity, when we initially locked down way back on March 23rd 2020 there was 2,335 that day. Not hugely different from the 2,100 noted today, and again one needs to dig deeper to understand the prevalence of a potential new strain.

The point is that again the UK government spread to have taken the approach of “wait-and-see” and it could cost lives.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lmao 2335 by PCR back in last March, probably about 233500 actual cases by then. Now we can be confident PCR and LFTs are catching most cases
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair point on testing, not a fair comparison at all. Naughty BMCL

Are you having a laugh? we was doing about 4000 tests in March 2020 now we’re doing 1m+

This week there’s been 4 deaths out of the 97 deaths from the Indian variant, none in people that have been vaccinated

I’ve agreed with a lot of this response but This is all BS now just an excuse for government to keep control, there’s a big protest in London again on the 15th imagine there’ll be millions there this weekend

posted on 14/5/21

No offense to the 4 people that died of the variant but 4 deaths and like 400 cases and its cause for concern ? get facked

Surprised there’s not a special England rugby team variant, that’s the one that really makes you feel $hit Would be more believable

Remember to count the number of people Oscar 😉

Exactly

Cases still low as they can be with false positives

Hospitalisations under 1k

Admissions under 100

No uptake in anything from a variant that has been here over 3 weeks other than in cases, and cases are irrelevant when 70% of the adult population has had a first dose

Sorry but it’s a load of Bollux, cause for concern my ass

And it’s not like the Brazilian one where at least you had some justification as the vaccine response wa s apparently lower, on this studies have shown it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference

Rude. I am well aware that there was less testing in March 2020 compared to now. The point was, which you’ve skipped over, is that the growth trend in the number of cases from this variant is an important consideration. Additionally, there is a risk of exponential growth in cases from this variant.

2000 positive cases from over 1 million tests when they estimate an average of 1000 will be false positives is not much at all it’s nothing

And cases now the majority have been vaccinated have become even more pointless

The positivity rate in 2020 was around 68% now it’s 0.7%

How can they say the India variant is more transmissible when all we can judge is India where of course a variant would appear more transmissible when they all live within 1 feet of each other

Yep because they were only testing in hospital so we was getting 3000 positives from around 5000 tests early on

I mean the estimated 10,000 reported by the Met Police, mainstream media and independent journalists in the UK and abroad.

The same 10,000 or so shown in the video I posted up here showing the parade end-to-end, and taken by one of the attendees.
