Why are De Gea and Bailly playing?
Looks like Jose just wants to qualify top and get CL out of the way so he can start playing a weaker side in the comp.
I would say Bailly also needs some extra game time after a spell out to catch up fitness wise.

Very true but it seems like a risk especially given that we will play 3 at the back on Sunday and if Bailly gets injured then it will be Bramble mk2 starting against Hazard and Morata.
Mctominay starting? But Jose doesn't play youth.
Nice to see McTominay starting, what a night it will be for him coming out onto the OT pitch at night for a CL game
Good line up, more than enough in attack to get he game won and solid at the back. Matic needs a dominant game, and a vocal one to help the youngster through.
Is Andreas Pereira starting regularly for Valencia?
I thought Herrera would have played instead of Matic but not far off what I expected really.
Lukaku needs goals so good to see him start and Bailly needs games to get up to speed as well.

I think he's started 2 out of their last 5 league games but comes on pretty regularly with like 15 to go. Still a very strange loan.

Exactly! Especially given how poor Herrera has been this season, I thought he looked brilliant in the deep lying role during pre season.

That's true but I'm impressed by his desire to play as well. If Carrick, Pogba and Fellaini weren't injured at the same time don't think he'd be getting much of a look in. Just shows that the luck of being in right place at the right time (ala Rashford) can play a part.
Hopefully this lights a fire under Herrera, he’s been strolling this year

Dnt think pereira loan was a strange one, in reality he was behind, fellaini, matic, Herrera, pogba, miki and mata when they play the 10 role, that’s forcing your way past a lot of players

Yep, there is that too.
Seems to me a lack of faith from the player in what his manager had told him in terms of his chances of playing with any regularity.

On paper it looks tough but don't forget he can also play out wide where on the right we only have Lingard and the dreadful Mkhitaryan, he would have got his chances this year no doubt about it.
He may have but at his age and how far he was down the pecking order you can’t hope for injuries to get ur chance, Jose obviously told him where he was on the depth chart and he thought he would play more football elsewhere
Huge game for mctominay.
I would have rested Matic
I think McTominay will learn more from Matic than Herrera, who will most likely leave the young lad isolated due to his Robbie Savage-esq,headless chicken playing style
I expect him to play a controlled, safe game, keep the ball moving with the odd surge forward. He’s not shy of a physical battle either.
Berbatov
Jose thinking about some quality OJT for young McTominay, agree that Matic needs some rest, but Herrera hasn't got his act together yet this season.

My understanding is that José was disappointed Pereira wanted to go out on loan
José told him he was in his plans and would get game time
