People still watch snooker

Hope it wasn't you kash snooker is a great game. I still watch it regularly

Just 4 starred it.

I used to like it in the 90s and maybe early 00s but find it boring now.

I'll let you off then I do feel the game was better in the 90s because Hendry dominated it then although I was a kid. It still is very good though in my eyes, but there are far too many tournaments about these days.

Day v Hamilton in the first QF, currently locked in a grind fest at 4-4

posted on 7/11/17

6-4 Hamilton in the end. Day had several guilt end chances to win that frame and take it to a decider but he didn't take his chances.

With regards to tournaments, the problem in the 90s was that there weren't enough tournaments to sustain a lot of players. The game is starting to become more global, especially in the Asian and European markets, which means more tournaments - however, the established players need to get used to travelling around the world, and it is probably more difficult to maintain consistency. But that is part and parcel of growing the game

I felt in both of Hamilton's matches, although he has done well to make the semis, both his opponents played fairly poorly, but that is not his fault and he finds himself 2 wins away from the title. Would still be a shock if he won the title, but he's in a better position than Ding, Day or Hawkins!

Fantastic that both Day and Hamilton won their 1st Ranking titles in the past 12 months.

Mark King, Liang Wenbo, Martin Gould and Luca Brecel also won their first ever ranking titles in the past 18 years. I was against too many ranking events, but it is nice to see some new players winning titles.

Maybe this will give them some more confidence to perform in the majors.

I agree that the 90s there weren't enough tournaments. It is also nice that the likes of King, Hamilton and Day have won ranking events in the past year. Michael White has beaten Fu today yet another seeded player is out.

In the shorter formats, it doesn't take much for a lot of big names to fall - most of the top 50, especially the younger players, are competent break builders and can reel off 2 or 3 frames in quick succession if on song. Fu didn't play that badly today, made 2 60+ breaks and a century, but is still out.

Good performance from Shaun Murphy. 6-4 was flattering in the end.

Judd Trump lost to Luca Brecel 4-0 Luca Brecel continued his quest with another famous victory over Mark Selby 6-4, what a clearance it was in the last frame.

Rocket v Wizard this evening

What a boring one sided match.

posted on 9/11/17

By boring I mean in terms of the scoreline too one sided, too short, was expecting a really close thrilling match but it's been anything but.

Great for Ronnie, after narrowly beating him 4-3 en route result to his English Open win, now he has destroyed Higgins 6-0. Apparently, Higgins had a bit of a shocker.

posted on 10/11/17

Ronnie remarked that you can't beat Higgins by that score even if your playing well unless he has had a bad day. He also said how nice it was to have a tournament without the numpties presumably referring to the top 128 tournaments that he has already said he is not a fan of. He says too many players should not be there and a 64 man event is still a round too long.
The ROcket v the Ripper in the semi.

Tommorow match will be a cracker between Luca Brecel and Shaun Murphy, really hope the winner will go on to win the title. I'm going to the final Sunday. No doubt 95% of the crowd will all be for Ronnie so I will give extra shouts and encouragement to Brecel/Murphy. Really can't see Hamilton causing an upset tonight, hope I'm wrong though.

Anthony Hamilton is so racking boring

Murphy wins 6-4 after trailing 4-2. Very good match. Really hope Shaun stands up tommorow and performs well. He has a terrible record against Ronnie.

That`s Sunday sorted, Ronnie v Shaun, should be a good match, I will be supporting O`Sullivan even though he is a Goona

A couple of early frames for Ronnie and I can see Murphy buckling, he’s not in great form.
