Love Poppy time

Plenty of Celtic bhoys and Irish Catholic troops fought and died in the wars against facism....like their Rangers and Ulster prod neighbours, in NI, Scotland and Eire.
Loads of Celtic fans wear a poppy, and loads choose not to.

Best not stir the poppy pot, IMO.

Good Celtic fans on here have expressed respect for all war dead, and disown the bigot ra fans, just as I disown bigot uvf bears.

Peace

It should be your choice to wear or not, leave the poppy by the shirt and leave it at that.

I agree. That's why I ask the question.....why should Celtic choose to stop their players from choosing?

You 're right pal. I have many friends and acquaintances who follow Celtic and wear a poppy but I still don't understand why the club they support should be the only one in the UK who actually ban their players from choosing to display one.
Is it some sort of political statement? If so, what? What happened to freedom of expression within limits?

Played ng to the Irish roots, possibly, even though most zrish have moved on.
Funny how the irish tricolour flew over Celtic FC, and not local flegs?
