"We aspire to be like Tottenham"
He is a good manager. It's easy to forget the brilliant job he did at Everton turning them from relegation plodders to a highly consistent top 6 side. And they became a more cultured footballing team too under him.
Sheriff I agree ... a bit.
But since then?
Managers get left behind. They go stale like players do.
Fergie used to bang on all the time about how he had to adapt to the changing landscape, I'm not sure Moyes ever did that.
some people just cant get over Moyes!
'Quote : "It is good for West Ham, they are getting a good manager," said Moyes.'
*Tumbleweed moment*
How can he say this with a straight face?
Think Moyes had a bit of a yoyo record with Everton. He had good seasons were interspersed with mid to lower end finishes. Understandable as he was working within quite rigid financial confines .
The success he had at Everton seemed to be to be built on a real togetherness of the team, in quite difficult circumstances with limited budget. They seemed to like to upset the odds and this desire was part of their strength.
If you look at West Ham, and their buying policy, they appear to me to be a collection of players from here there any everywhere. Real mix bag of quality and character. He'll have his work cut out to mold them in to what he had at Everton.
For me, he's not a quick fix manager. He has to be given time to build that team ethic...but he's been given a contract until June. What a joke. What does that say to the players....."don't worry, if you dont like him or his methods he'll be gone in the summer."
He needed this and next season minimum, at least to show the players that he's here to stay.
It might work out for him as he has proved to have some quality but not on a 7 month deal. Doomed to failure in these circumstances IMO.

Don't worry, he won't get a contract extension at West ham because he will do a god awful job but he will still manage to secure himself another prem club job before august. I don't know how he does it.
Moyes left man u three years ago, and your team is still average and have'nt signed a single world class player after spend like 500million.

I’d say De Gea is world class and Pogba will be. Possibly Martial, Rashford and Bailly in time. But ya we haven’t spent well enough I agree.

Agree about managers going stale or even having a one-season wonder, they still get offered decent jobs where players are disregarded more freely.
I think Moyes can point to a few different factors as to why he failed at United, taking over from SAF, only got 34 games etc but ultimately he was waaaay out of his depth, still can't believe a manager who had never won a trophy and finished 4th once managed United.
Sunderland was a disaster but Ellis Short was trying to stay in the PL on the cheap which doesn't really work, he's trying to do the same in the Championship and they could be going down again, I felt for him a Sunderland tbh, awful club and the players were a disgrace over about five years.
