Back when BTC spent a lot of time in the $8.6k-$10k region, a lot of altcoins started pumping but people expected BTC to dump heavily. It never happened. Like the price may drop but I certainly wouldn’t be selling here.

Tbh I won’t sell until BTC is at $250k and even so I’ll only sell 75% of my BTC and use most of those finds to start re-accumulating over the next 3 years in the following bear market.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yea, when bitcoin crashed in the last bull run, the alts went nuts for a couple of weeks before bleeding out. That's the one pattern I am looking out for (and why i have btc price set as default). Then trade in the alts for btc.

If btc hits $250k, i hope that we are no longer talking about converting to fiat and that we could use btc as a currency

Wouldn’t convert to Fiat anyway as would just get raaaped on taxes. Will most likely convert to USDT

I'm trading in an out of USDT.

HMRC site says you should pay tax each time you trade even if it's crypto to crypto though, are they counting stable-coins? I assume so.

Just move to Portugal, tax free!

On a side note, my shares in Beyond Meat just did 50% in an hour on news of a partnership with PepsiCo

Surely it would be so difficult for them to find out if you didn't though?

I really don't know, need to get my head around all of it.

If it's just sat on an exchange and you are trading it between crypto and stablecoin or crypto to crypto and you are not cashing any of that out then I would have thought you don't pay the 20% until you actual take profits in FIAT but...

🤷‍♂️

Some of it is based on gut feeling but I don't think we're going to see a significant crash from where we are now.

posted on 26/1/21

Any reason why you think your gut is telling you that?

My gut is saying another dip down to $29,500 area and at worst $27,500

TBH gut is the wrong word, it's hope more than anything, lol. It's showing strong resistance at $30k - $31k.

I'm hoping this continued resistance will give potential investors confidence that we won't see lows like the 2017 bear market again.

2019 rather*

I hear you mate, it keeps bobbing and threatening to dip but then doesn't, then it bobs up and threatens to break through then doesn't. My feeling from watching the markets quite extensively recently is that with the daily highs getting lower and the daily lows getting lower the last few days that the price correction Bats has been predicting will be down - but I hope/feel it won't be too far down and a good recovery is possible if/when it happens.

BTC broke that supporting trend line on the 4h and dumped $1500. Nothing to write home about yet. Expecting it either move back up and retest it as support (around $31,700) or else it will just keep moving down certainly to the previous low of $28,800, but I’m not sure how much of any support is gonna be around that level.

BTC never confirmed $20k as support after initially breaking it so wouldn’t be surprised if this downtrend goes down that low (although that is still a long way away from happening).

Around $29,800 right now.

Any advice on what to look for in terms of buying the right (or lowest) dip. Feel like if it drops to $27 ish I will want to buy but concerned it could fall further like you said.

No idea. I always tell people to dollar cost average. Just buy a certain amount every month regardless of price. No idea where it will bottom out

BTC retested that previous support at $31700 as resistance and got strongly rejected. Think we are gonna start seeing new lows tomorrow

Sorry to keep bashing the TA stuff... But this week's events are so much more to do with the US government appointment and the GME stocks.

You can't TA for the randomness of the retaards on /wsb!
