Big drops across the board

I’mrelatively new to this scene, so forgive me if this is familiar, but I came across a thread on Reddit last night that sent me down a rabbit hole. Anyway, discussion forum, 2010, thread titled “how many bitcoins do you own”

Some fella posted a link that is not there anymore, that showed his 371,000 BTC. Which led to a “where’s that guy with 371k “ thread, and all sorts of skullduggery it seems

If he is smart enough to still hold then he is smart enough to shut up regarding his hoard and vanish off reddit. That's easily enough to make some rather nasty people go out of there way to track you down.

Always wondered what will happen if Satoshi was to ever move his cache of million+ coins. I'm sure the price would plummet but seems mad only a tiny amount of the allocation, when the price was officially 0, have been moved. Maybe the guy is dead...who knows.

I'm more curious regarding the highest bitcoin fees people are paying though. Ive read about some wallet holders that have had thousands and thousands of transactions report near 5 figure transaction fees, due to their extensive transaction history using the same wallet.
I can see why some prefer to retain one address but this def seems a good reason to rotate if you are moving some serious volumes on a regular basis if that's a potential consequence

Page 10 on the second link has a long post trying to explain what happened to him after he’d opened his mouth. Seemingly he has some story that everyone else is sceptical off. And there’s some group in Tennessee that think he ripped them off.

Interesting time capsule

Beauty of block chain is we will see. Always felt Satoshi had to be a collective myself, just based on the work of the white paper alone, and how sophisticated it was at the time. I know Satoshi took inspiration from a number of sources but still just blows my mind to think it's the work of one individual. The zero price blocks always make headlines when they are moved but I can't see us ever knowing exactly who Satoshi is anymore. It definitely isn't the Australian guy who is claiming to be him though, who just so happen to wants his stolen bitcoins replaced 😅

When I first got into bitcoin full tilt poker had confiscated my funds, despite them only having the jurisdiction to freeze USA funds, and I stumbled onto bitcoin.
It's mad how back then there was next to no interest in security, as the coins were borderline worthless. Now when I see how much it's changed in such a short time frame its almost comical how my early coin purchases unfolded. Blessing i's scammers only chase money and few had the forsight to take what would have been candy from a babies mouth, as it wasn't worth their time.

Telling people you have that quantity in play, online, seems crazy to say the least but it was quite common back then, noting it was 2010. I'd well buy a bond villainesque island with that lot

What's the difference? I'm guessing to use Coinbase pro you have to lay a huge stake on something? Something along them lines anyway

posted on 17/3/21

Coinbase pro you buy and sell against a market value or rate. It’s much more complex that the ease of Coinbase lite.

posted on 17/3/21

Coinbase pro is a trading platform whereas Coinbase is just an exchange to buy/sell/hold

posted on 17/3/21

Yea, standard coinbase is the starting point for most noobs, so getting listed there is a huge deal, as you get exposed to a massive amount of people who are scared of the likes of coinbase pro, binance etc

posted on 17/3/21

It's still bullish for ADA though, you'd have to imagine that it is a stepping stone to being listed on coinbase.
