We can't win the game from here so we are just going to have to bat and bat when we get put back in. The side has rarely shown they can do this so I don't expect anything here other than an innings loss. Real shame as there has been positive moments but hey ho. As always, people want heads to roll? Unlucky James Vince, looked tidy until he got an unplayable delivery. All on Malan and Bairstow now. Fully expect a collapse for about 60 runs tomorrow morning once one of them go though.

Why do England struggle on flat roads?

I wouldn’t say we struggled. I remember they beat us by something like 45 runs and 4 wickets respectively. It was a close fought series and Kohli played incredibly well scoring pretty much the same number of runs as Smith in his first series as captain - that too overseas. Games were close fought unlike the series we’re witnessing now. But that doesn’t suit your agenda does it whoelse you mug.

have you seen the scores??? as for being closer.. you still lost the series and it was only 3 tests.

Also, short memories and all. England are being drubbed in Australia and were also drubbed when you came over to India this year 4-0. Yes you can trounce us on swinging wickets but we do the same to you on slow burning sub continent tracks where your batsmen are like rabbits caught in headlights.

No it wasn’t - it was four tests. Originally it was meant to be a 5 match series but Phil Hughes’ death meant the first Test was postponed. At least get your facts right if you are going to spout nonsense.

Liverpool we managed to salvage a few draws and came close to winning a game. England have looked far from winning.

anyway when India actually win in Australia you can actually have something to crow about...never won a test series in Aus.. and India have played test cricket since 1932. so over 80 years..

Lets see how India do in SA. remember England won there last time.

Stoneman looks like he has been well and truly roughed up by the Aussies. Wonder if he will end up like carberry as I see hameed and Jennings as the long term opening partnership. Bad news that for Lancashire. Vince looked class. So unlucky to get on the end of that ball. Nothing you can do. Don't see much hope without rain as one more wicket and it's the tail.

Arsenal I have been critical of England’s performance as many Englishmen have been. In fact I was the very few who had suggested that England will win this ashes series as Australian team is pretty bad bar Steve smith.

That’s a different debate that my prediction skills are pretty bad

Liverpool no one is saying India will win handsdwon. We have never won a series in SA and Aus and it would be a great achievement if india can do so.

Agreed. Let's stick to England vs Australia, any more comments off topic will be deleted so not to derail the thread.

Jennings and Hameed will both need to prove themselves to get back in the England fold. Although one may get a chance sooner if Cook does retire from playing for England after this series. Stoneman has done enough already in my view to be back in the side next summer.

No I was just pointing out when some indian fan claimed England cant bowl on flat wickets when I pointed out most teams struggle in Australia.you need to look at the scores on Australian wickets to see this..

You need to look at the 2 of the dismissals of England players.. Stoneman and Roots in the second innings.. This happens wayyyyyyyyyy to often for me. They need a slap for doing it. But since everyone is failing with the bat.. Crictism is not allowed in the England dressing room.
