That will help the lads confidence

If the player has any balls he might want to prove Jose and United fans wrong.

' if Dortmund were serious about taking him back for a decent fee'

Besides anything else, criticising him in public doesn't make commercial sense does it?

slagging off the players in public worked great for Jose at Chelsea didn't it?

He has been absolutely awful.

Either he improves or we need to replace him ASAP - let's see how he responds.

I think he been a poor signing overall.
Even in the EL last season, though granted he was getting the goals, his overall play was pretty bog standard on more than one occasion.
He's ridiculously light too.Dose'nt seem to have any upper body strength, noted when he was physically outmatched by Fabregas a few weeks back.

I wouldn't think it'd make any difference at all.

He hasn't questioned the player's commitment or performances in training; only his displays on match day, all of which will have been seen by any club interested in procuring his services.

Mourinho used to have good man-management skills during his first stint with Chelsea, those skills have diminished over the last few seasons.

He doesn't strike me as a boss that players enjoy playing under these days.

By the way he's spot on about Mkhitaryan but there's just no benefit from talking about him to the media, if he needs dropping just do it without the need to explain it.

Hmmm

Not a fan normally of how Jose publicly criticises players but I'm actually thinking it might be warranted in this instance. Miki has been very bad recently

As I've suggested in the OP, I really don't think he's suited to the English game.

There are some (if very few) lightweight players who have performed well, or even excelled in the league. But they are usually superbly hard-working, excellent at finding space, have great feet in close control, and/or know when and how to shift the ball quickly (and often to their side's advantage) when under physical pressure. David Silva and Mata are good examples. Mkhi doesn't seem to have any of those attributes in his locker.

Mata was class last week.Hopefully he continues to keep his place.

I don’t agree he’s not suited to English football.

He’s just not suited to Mourinho football.

Stick him at any other top 6 club and I think he would look a lot better.

posted on 25/11/17

Mkhi is purely a counter attacking player. When he's been involved in goals and assists they more often than not come when he's got clear space infront of him.

He's a decent pass-and-move player but he dosesnt effect teams a great deal when they're deep, and this is him on a good day.

posted on 25/11/17

Jose,to his credit, has given Mkhi as much freedom as any player in the squad, more so with Pogba out.
He's simply not doing it.

No excuse for habitually picking the wrong option, poor passing and what's coming across as lack of effort or indeed interest

I think it’s a bit of a strange idea that Bundesliga is massively less physical than the PL.

Germany has always combined power football with technical finesse.

I see no physical reason why a player shouldn’t excel in both leagues, other than the extra games in the PL.

posted on 25/11/17

Quick passing and movement are a great way of dodging the physical side of the PL.So its down to the teams setup in that regard.
We're obviously not a quick passing team.
That still doesnt account for Mhki clear lack of effort and basic destribution of the ball.

posted on 25/11/17

I disagree that Mhki would be a success under other top 6 teams.Purely down to the fact he doesn't offer the same work rate the likes of which Poch,Pep,Conte,Klopp would require.
Maybe under Arsene he do alright though.

posted on 25/11/17

Kinda strange that Jose picking on his players. He didn't do this in previous clubs

posted on 25/11/17

As Jose has said.Mhki hasn't been performing for atleast a month now and he still gave him oppurtunites in the first 11 to prove himself.Mhki didn't and now Jose has gone public.
I wouldnt be surprised if Mhki was in the first 11 today.

posted on 25/11/17

Mata did exactly what Jose and United fans have been wanting to see from Mhki last week.Effort and ability.
Simple.

I agree he’s dreadful
The Portuguese Pulis won’t be replaced anytime soon though

To be fair to Maureen, Mkhitarion has been so bad that this is one of the times Maureen is actually right to publicly criticise him.

Maureen has built a team and bought players to get the best out of Mkhitarion and he has been complete dogshiiiit and unworthy of a place in the squad.

People are gonna ask where he is so might as well give the correct answer. There was a time Almunia was so bad for Arsenal that Wenger made up a fake injury to keep him out of the squad which was much more embarrassing then the criticism he deserved for his performances.

Whether or not this lad is not suitable for English football is a big statement. Put him in a Pep Guardiola team, and Mkhi is up there with KDB in my opinion. I am not blaming our manager here, but maybe the lad is just not suited to our style.
