The latter. Dembele hadn't been enough of an outlet and hadn't held it up when we were getting ran ragged.
Anybody have any guesses regarding Rodgers thinking behind strikers and how it will unfold over January and into the summer?
When asked all he would say is
How is the old tan coming on ? Looking good huh? Looks even better with my fancy teeth and my blow dried hair dontcha fink , yo

I think that Griffiths was rested on Saturday just in case Dembele didn't make the CL game and we didn't want to risk Griffiths getting injured.
However Eddie came in to the team and took his opportunity with both hands which has ultimately given him the chance ahead of Griffiths last night
Wouldn't be against Edouard starting on Sunday, he's looking very sharp.
Its all about rotation over the next few weeks
Hibs (a)
Hamilton (h)
Hearts (a)
Partick Thistle (h)
Aberdeen (h)
Dundee (a)
Rangers (h)
over the next 24 days
And with Dembele out it only leave a us an injury away from a nightmare
Aitchison still scoring freely for the development team, maybe Rodgers doesnt think he is ready though
Dembele will be sold and Ciftci will come back in as the main man.
FACT.
Clearly a FACT.
Even says FACT to show that it's a FACT.
FACT.
FACT in capitals just to reiterate the FACT

I think its quite simple, Dembele is your best striker and when fit will play just about every game unless there is important fixtures before or after. the young boy from PSG and Griffiths are completely different type of strikers. Griffiths is the striker you want when your team is much better than the opposition. He will take the chances the team create but isnt as good as holding the ball up on his own in the final third. The Young french guy is a more physical player who can get the ball to stick when up on his own and allow his team to come forward and meet him to link up. Dembele is a kinda mix of both!
I said yesterday, but Dembele wasnt fit IMO his ankle certainly wasnt 100%. He was not keen on bringing the ball into him and keeping it as very often this can involve defenders coming in and you get hit. He was very quick to lay every ball off as soon as he could. He also lost his footing quite a lot when the others round him didnt.

I'll decide
And I've decided
I honestly think this could be his last season , he's hardly being used and when he is he's been brutal for the most part
He's been pretty bad for about 3 months now Griffiths.
How good was the control on the turn by some of their players last night?
Great technique pulling the ball down and perfectly under control right on the line from a cross field ball
Can't afford to be parting with a natural, reliable goalscorer. Dembele will be off soon, Edouard is on loan and unproven really. Griffiths I'm sure signed a 5 year deal at the start of last season. Cannot see him being punted.
He isn't playing very well this season but neither are a lot of players.
As well as their captain, the wee ginger guy in the middle was very good also!
