Ederson better than Neuer

Was no better than the Gomez double save for Watford against WHU.

To be fair to Neuer, it's hard to shine when you're injured.

I love watching him as his confidence on the ball is ridiculous. He practically dared the united players to press him and not one of them even attempted.

just hope he doesnt become too confident. Will have an exceptional career. One of the buys of the season.

the reaction save was just that. Nothing amazing about it.

At Benfica his nickname was 'the bull ' cause when he saw a ball he charged at it. He is amazingly chilled on the pitch, never seems to get edgy. Off the pitch it seems little Portuguese arrses shouting about respect do seem to trigger him.

He is at the same level as Mignolet only Ederson is far better at making those 5 yard pases that Guardiola love so much.

Guys with no limbs are at the same level as Mignolet

I think i used to have my blinkers on regarding Joe Hart, probably along with others and i thought other supporters knocking him were talking out of their aris.

Looks like I was wrong, Ederson and Hart may as well be playing a different sport such is the difference in quality.

Not knocking Hart as he had some good times.

First save was just good positioning, the second was brilliant.

Ederson looks a very good keeper from what I have seen.

Yep - first save he just had to stand up and take it. Takes a bit of courage not to flinch, but not really great goalkeeping. Being quick and alert enough to stop the rebound after the first save was brilliant.

In England keepers have largely been brought up well aware that they are the last line of defence before the goal. Ederson looks like he was raised as a goalkeeper who never even played in front of a net, he’s just that comfortable on the ball.

Sky commentary said he started as a LB but didn't like running about so went in nets. Seems believable.

He's certainly looked like a great buy up until now.

Not that I wish him any wrong, but young keepers often go through patches where they might have a confidence crisis, and it's how they react to those that tell you whether you've got a keeper in for the long haul.

On Neuer, I always thought he was a good keeper with a llot of hype around him, but he was fantastic in the CL tie against us last season. Madrid absolutely peppered their goal in both legs, and he almost single-handedly kept Bayern in the tie until the officials went blind.

Hart also put in some excellent CL performances against us, but (similar to our own situation with Casillas) he'd become error prone towards the end of his time at City and, more importantly, couldn't be that 11th baller that Pep wanted.

I can understand some City fans refusing to see it after so many years of good service; think it also prevented a few from warming to Guardiola sooner, but I imagine the vast majority are converts by now.

Hart had a good career with us and I’ll always wish him the best, but the difference is quite staggering now.

Bravo is definitely Guardiolas biggest mistake so far though

Yeah, not arguing in favour of Bravo. Despite his success at Barça, having watched him at Real Sociedad for several years and in the odd international for Chile, I was never really sold on him personally.

That said, Bravo was always going to have a hard time because Hart was England's no.1 ... more so after Hart being disposed of so ruthlessly. (Think Pep was a bit too unceremonious there, tbh.)

But Bravo was targeted in the media from the word go. After the first few mistakes it became clear that the pressure had really got to him. It got to a point where he didn't look like he could make a single save.

He was never anywhere near as bad as he was for you guys over in Spain, and he played a very long time here.

The first save hit his head. If Lukaku put it inches either side it was a goal. 2nd save was quality.

Looks a top keeper to be fair.

It’s happened before Savic for example..

Yeah, they're like that. Everywhere may I add, not just the UK.

I can remember De Gea getting a lot of stick in his first season.
