I know I've said this several times on this thread but it is a big signing chalked off before the summer.

I hope in the summer we look to train Gomez as a centre back from the start, especially if Clyne can come back to a similar level, Trent can do another season as deputy right back, will do him the world of good.

Then look to partner Gomez and VVD as out starting pair next season, Klopp threw in a few young defenders at Dortmund so isn't afraid to do it, and VVD should be well settled in by then. I like Matip but think Gomez has a higher ceiling and needs to play as a cb

Klopp is slowly building a team capable of competing for titles. We now need keeper. Keita is coming next season and could come next month.

We’re meant to compete on the pitch, not in the transfer price tag wars. I’d be happy with good players with bargain price tags that do the job just as well as those with inflated fees. It’s not all about spending the most.

Anyway, it’s good that we’re signing VvD; better late than never. Next year is our year 😛
