Would we take £150 million for him though ????

Don’t know how he finds the time to do the painting.🎨

The disparity between transfer fees for "established" premiership players and championship player is utter madness.

I'm not the biggest fan of Keogh, but he is a committed and whole hearted player who can, when he has the ball at his feet, pass it out well and also goes on the occasional foray up field.

He rarely makes errors and has decent all round ability and is consistent.

All in all a good player who would I think, cope with life in the Prem.

And then there is Virgil Van Dijk ...

Technically, a better player than Keogh BUT as he has proven this year, NOT a team player and only really in it for himself.

He ratted on Celtic by demanding a move and has done the same with Southampton. The phrase down there has been "going through the motions" when he's played.

So, I think we might get £3/5m for Keogh if we sold him, roughly 20 times less than Southampton are getting for Van Dijk.

Would I pay £75m to get VD - nope!

Trouble is no one wants Keogh

Sheep - and there, I think, is the root issue.

Rumour was that Liverpool offered £50m for VD in the summer and were rejected. Soton said no way was he leaving - he is key to our future.

5 months later and he's been played poorly in an average side but, because a new rumour appeared that Man City might be in for him, the price has gone up by 50%.

Agents and clubs playing games again. Market manipulation.

If 666 started a rumour that Soton want Keogh to replace VD, we would get him up to £15m in no time.

He's always looked terrible when I've watched MotD, no wonder Liverpool want him, they seem to like crap defenders.

Sean Dyche tried to sign Keogh for Burnley in 2014. Obviously Dyche is a poor judge of a player compared to many of us on here. At the time Keogh was in the last year of his contract and the bid was 1.5 million, which was turned down. He's at least a hundred times better now than he was then, so Wellies' valuation of 150 million seems about right.

I see the managerial merry-go-round is in full swing again, seems just the same as the crazy transfer fees?

I've just texted my Liverpool supporting friend, he lives in Chesterfield, that Virgil is a waste of money and they would do better buying a decent goalkeeper. If my name was Klopp I'd be having a new year chat to Butland, but not Carson.

How do any of them keep getting a job (and a nice pay-off for only doing one of a three year contact say)?

Never mind, the dick-heads who run football clubs deserve all the crap their egos can handle.

Is sending VD to Liverpool the same sort of thing as sending coals to Newcastle Scouse?
