On a serious note. It's actually a cracking league. There's literally 10 sides all capable of promotion, all pretty evenly matched. Half of the premier league is full of division 2 clubs anyway, we wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
I have often said that The Championship is more interesting than the PL. Speaking entirely for myself, whilst I want to finish 1st or 2nd this season like all Rams fans, I think I expect to enjoy my football watching less than I would if we stayed in the Championship.

I want promotion but I do prefer the feeling after we have won a game and I am unlikely to get that feeling so often in the Premier League. It is really crap when you play a far better side and they score early.
I love the Championship, I want us to win the league but would rather not be promoted.
The prem is only going to get worse for the ST holders too. Sat night games!! In fact probably only half will be on at Sat at 3pm.
Don't forget we get free season tickets if we are promoted this year Iwas. Might cushion the blow a little.
Means I can give my ticket away without losing money.
The division won't be missed, but it's for sure an action packed division.
Sell it, not give it away. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
Sorry but most games I watch are utter garbage
The standard is shocking

In average attendence they do. MLS has been averaging 21-22,000 for a few years now.
Aside from the anomaly that was last season (with newcastle selling out 50,000 every game to boost the attendance figures) the championship has been averaging around 17,000 for quite a few years.
Comparing the total attendance last year for the championship to MLS, or any of those other euro leagues is misleading as the Championship is a 46 game season compared to MLS 34, so you are looking at about an extra 150 games or so to boost the attendance figure.
Mega Millions betting jackpots in the world are mainly games drawn from the championship.
Basically, it's one of the most difficult to predict leagues. Put a few championship games in a jackpot and nobody comes close to winning it.

You are at the end of a bell mate!
I didn't argue with the Europe bit, I pointed out that you said average and the article said total people watching. Which bit of " Its not about the averages, its about total attendance" did you not get?
Where you are right is that Newcastle would have boosted the figures - by around 450,000 over the whole season, which equates to around 800 max off the average (which was 21k last season) given that there are 552 games in the season.
Which would still have kept it well ahead of the MLS.
AND, FOR THE RECORD, IT IS ALSO THE 3RD MOST WATCHED FOOTBALL LEAGUE IN THE WORLD (AS WELL AS EUROPE)
450,000 attending 23 Newcastle games? That's only about a 20,000 average attendance. Surely they would have more than that.
Point remains that the figure is skewed because the championship has many more games than the leagues it's being compared to. The stat is fairly meaningless taken in that context. Average attendance is a better metric.
Again ... read whats written!
450000 is what Newcastle boosted the total by in that they averaged around 20000 more per game than most teams.
But anyway...
Can't imagine Newcastle were averaging only 20000 more than Bolton or mk dons or whoever.
Fact remains, in the years prior to 2016 17 the avg attrndance was about 17k. Mls came in with attendances about 30% higher. With decent tv viewing figures making it much more watched than the championship by all measures really.
"Mls came in with attendances about 30% higher. With decent tv viewing figures..."
I don't think MLS has "decent tv viewing figures."
I could be wrong...
Probably more people watch it than the championship. Every game is live on tv either in the local market or nationally televised. Championship? Maybe 1 game a week?
