I see we are not going to change our positions on this.
Talking of Cronenburg, not a fan of his stuff, very few I’ve enjoyed, twin peaks, scanners, absolutely hate with a real passion eraserhead, that film just made me feel ill, not because of anything gruesome, just a sickly film. Hate it , the rest are just weird.
The Godfather- not seen this in at least a decade, much better to watch as you age.

Eraserhead and Twin Peaks are Lynch, Scanners is Cronenberg. Both do surreal stuff though so I can see why you confused them.

If I wanted to recreate his films, , I’d take a massive dose of lsd , go to a circus hall of mirrors, then some some Damien hurst exhibition to try and figure out wtf it’s about, followed by taking a flight to Chechnya for a better life. It makes no sense, like half his films.

Not when there’s no sense in at all.,I like been challenged but it needs a slightest hint at resolution, not just vague madness. Like he decided, I’ll use the same cast, and just make up some totally different scenes, and say it’s a film.,
